I grew up on Whole Milk, my grandmother always used 2% so i drank that alot at her place, since ive lived on my own, ive drank it all, depending on my mood. Ive started eating healthier as of late and was buying Soy Milk for my protein shakes, now it gets used for everything. Nothing better than some cereal with a little peanut butter added and silk soy milk!

Growing up as a kid, milk was something I loved to drink. I used to drink about 4 to 5 glasses of it a day. I am pretty sure it was 2% but it might have been 1%. I don't ever really remember drinking whole milk and the few times I tried skim milk, I despised it with a passion. When I got married, my wife wanted me and her to drink 1% and have our daughter drink 2%. Yet, there are many times I will still drink the 2% over the 1% (I voted for 2% but technically I drink 1% more now). I don't nearly drink as much milk now like I did when I was a kid; I should drink more but I always let my wife and daughter get the first dibs on the milk. Oh and I might be the only person that likes to eat cereal dry. I love drinking milk but I cannot stand it on my cereal - how crazy is that?
I used to love drinking ready made chocolate milk until I heard they use spoiled milk. Is that true? I heard that the chocolate is used to mask the taste.
I prefer 2%, but my 18 month old daughter drinks whole milk. Since I don't drink it that often, I just roll with the whole milk. I'm with you Manny on the dry cereal. I usually eat mine dry or with just a few tablespoons of milk. I hate soggy cereal.
I doubt it is true. Although pasteurization has decreased the effects of illness there is still a chance ingesting spoiled milk will make you sick.
I want to be that one guy spoiling a good thing confusing everything with some facts of how milk really isnt good for you. But too lazy and non-informed at the moment... (2% milk...) "We got so much food in America we're allergic to food. Allergic to food! Hungry people ain't allergic to ****. You think anyone in Rwanda's got a ****ing lactose intolerance?!" - Chris Rock c. 1996 not saying its you though
This is what I drink: Does it taste as "buttery" as whole milk? Of course, not, but not that I care. I like the way it tastes, it stores forever and is healthy.
I've done skim milk and 2% at different times in my life. At the moment we buy whole milk in part because one of our daughters could use the additional fat content. We used to tease a friend who would ask for skim by offering to water the milk down for her When we do buy skim or 2% we always have to buy whole milk as well for baking purposes. As a professional baker and chef I can assure you they are not truly interchangeable. If a recipe calls for milk and does not specify then you should assume they mean whole milk. This is particularly the case for sauces and anything in the pastry kitchen.
It's not true. Its against the law to sell milk with a grade lower than A. If it's B it's used to make cheese. The farmer can get their license revoked and possibly lose their farm if the FDA and (that other company that I can't think of the name right now) find out they sell spoiled milk. I just took finished this dairy science course. You should still be able to taste/know if the milk is spoiled even if it's chocolate milk.
i personally like to mix it up.. whole milk.. soy milk(vanilla flavor or chocolate).. 2%.. fat free.. etc...
I haven't drank milk in about 7 years. Not for lifestyle or moral reasons, but rather I hate the taste of it. Also I don't think it is natural to drink cow milk. Here is my obligatory posting of http://www.notmilk.com/ and http://www.milksucks.com
Believe it or not, I have never eaten cereal with milk in it. I never was raised to put milk in my cereal, and I still haven't tried it to this day. I eat dry cereal every morning. When I was a kid, I used to eat dry Honey Comb with my hands. Now I eat Mueslix, but with a spoon.
I clicked on your milksucks.com link and immediately noticed the picture of the basketball player at the top. If you click on it, you end up here: http://www.peta.org/feat/nbadairy/index.html PETA actually sent letters to Lebron and Melo during their rookie year asking the winner not to accept the "Got Milk?" Rookie of the Year Award in protest against the milk industry. They even show you copies of the letters they sent. Lebron: http://www.peta.org/feat/nbadairy/lebronjames.pdf Melo: http://www.peta.org/feat/nbadairy/carmelo.pdf Not only did Lebron end up accepting the award but I'm pretty sure I've seen Melo with a milk mustache in some "Got Milk?" ads. In other words, PETA FAIL.
I still haven't found anything on my HEB branded Chocolate Milk. Anyone have any ideas on how I can find out if it's 2%, 1% or whole? I mean it doesn't say anything on the label and HEB.com is crap.
Do not use milk as a prop, sir. Anyway, three pages, almost 60 posts and no Russell Peters "and then my friend said 'Ok, i will make more milk'... so I said... 'what? Make more milk?' to him" YouTube post? Well, I cannot find the video myself, either.
