I feel like many white Conservatives are at odds with the fact that there are plenty of white people and other minorities who are sympathetic to the black community on this issue. It's not really a black vs white thing, more like some whites vs. some whites, blacks, and other minority groups.

I bet the New Orleans D.A. didn't present defense information for the police officers to the grand jury either like they did for Wilson. But the thing is those officers were punished. The guy who gunned down Martin is free as well and he wasn't even a cop. These protest aren't just about Brown. But protest and riots will get them no where. More black folks rather innocent or not will be gunned down... That's nothing new.

So YOU spend 10 minutes doing Google research to find something...ANYTHING...to save face and find the Post article. NONE of which does anything to dispute that what the NY Times did (and Slate and the Post) did was despicable. So congrats. You managed to make this about me while distracting from the point. I agree that it's not a white vs black issue, it's a small group of morons vs reality. Some of those morons are black, some are white, some are hispanic, some are Asian. No one race has a monopoly on stupid. Pretty much everyone with even half a brain realizes that this is an open and shut case and that the officer didn't do anything wrong. It was a case of someone foolishly attacking an armed police officer and getting killed for it.
I don't have numbers, but even the liberal whites I am friends with are split on this issue. There are a number of moderates and liberals I know that feel Wilson was justified... Oddly I know a few conservatives that are harsh critics of the police and current protocol for how officers are trained and respond. If the issue was cut and dry their wouldn't be so much fighting and disagreement.
I don't know why the protesters jumped onto the car in the first place which caused the driver to freak out and speed through. The guy was initially driving really slowly trying to get through the intersection until people started to jump onto his windshield

This is further sensationalizing by the media against another media source to cause outrage. The address wasn't given, Wilson hasn't lived at that address for years, a simple google search shows the exact address where Wilson lived. Further a photograph of the front of the home has been shown on numerous television outlets. The headline seems outrageous.. But like most of the rating seeking media, the actual story is different.
Thats the tragedy of these "crimes" that are blown up into a huge deal and then later found to be justified (if tragic) shootings. There OBVIOUSLY are real issues between police officers and the black community all over the nation. These issues exist for real reasons that aren't going away. Dialogue and change are sorely needed between the two...and yet, nothing gets accomplished. Why? Because the race hustlers and media whores who are making money off these tragedies get in the way of REAL dialogue between the 2 and help create such hostile atmosphere that it actually makes the problem worse rather than better because of the dishonesty and rush to judgement. Meanwhile, in a year or 5 years, or 10 years this will happen all over again.
In my social circle most white liberals think there should've been an indictment at least. A few white conservatives are on the fence now, yet most support Wilson. First-generation Asians are supporting Wilson regardless of what happened. More than ethnicity, I've noticed the job is a better predictor: prosecutors, doctors, and those in finance are siding with Wilson; defense attorneys, door men, engineers, artists, and teachers are saying no indictment was crazy but not completely supporting one side or the other.
As an Asian liberal person, I felt super duped by the media on this. When the news first came out, everyone was telling me the racist cop shot this black kid to death from behind multiple times. I was like pretty outraged. And then as I begin to look more into it, I found out the "kid" was 300 pound 18 year old who was intimidating as hell, and then I find out he robbed a convenient store before he was shot, and then I find out he attacked the officer, and then I find out he assaulted the cop while reaching for his gun. I'm like with all the actual injustice going on between black people and the criminal justice system, people are rioting because of this?!?!?!? like what the ****? Then I was just surprised at people's outrage and how the media twisted this story. I mean I watch CNN today, people are still saying this black kid was murdered in cold blood as if the none of it was caused by his own actions.
