You need to study the other racists in this thread. They understand how to use dog whistles and blame-the-victim reasoning to justify their bigotry. If you just shout "black people are monkeys!" then you've already lost.

You can equate the physical act of rioting and trashing other people's property to monkeys and not relate it to race. That picture would still apply if it was a bunch of white people performing the same act.

 

It's the context in which it's being used IMO that makes it racist.

 

They do deserve criticism, but the act of showing monkeys and blacks is something that has been central to racist cartoons for a very long time.

 

It would because there's not deep-running, long history of people equating whites to monkeys.

Secondly, it wouldn't occur to people to equate white rioters with monkeys.

 

One could also call a black person a n***er and mean "I love you." But only a fool would believe a person who defended their own words that way.

It's not the same because there's a long, LONG history of equating blacks with monkeys in this country.

AND

Follow it up by saying "at least the monkeys would'nt do any significant damage to the car."

AND

Defend it by saying "Most will agree that my last sentence is true."
