I hope we don't sign this guy, that makes who many backup PF we have, 4? For now, we have Chuck Hayes, Landry, and Justin Reed.. I rather see the younger guys get more minutes to develop than Mikki Moore..
Chuck Hayes can start. Cmon, he was a solid starter for us last year. Played good defense, made some good hustle plays every game, fought for every rebound. He was always in the right place on offense and you couldn't cheat off of him to double Yao or Tmac because he would make you pay. Thats all you really want for a PF. It would be nice if we could sign a Tim Duncan type of PF to start for us, but we can't. If we can unload one of our gaurds for a decent backup PF, we'll be fine. You don't have to have all-stars at every position.
Are you trying to be sacastic?.. Oh well, I never dream about an all-star at the PF spot, I Just want a near-all-star..
Well everyone would like the best player possible at every position. But I'm just saying that if we sign someone worse than Chuck Hayes, Hayes can be the starter and our team will function just fine. The way you are talking you make it sound like with Chuck starting our team will be complete crap because of the incomplete starting line-up. Chuck holds his own as a starting PF. He can't create his own shot but he is REALLY good at getting points off of Tmac and Yao. And with the Duo taking a lot of shots, its nice to have a guy that doesn't demand 20 shots a game in the starting line-up that can still be effective in other ways.
#1 , he looked DECENT with j.kidd, an all-star caliber point guard which we dont have, so coming here he would definitely be on a descent from his performance last year, age is a factor also, our starting 5 is looking decent now except for a gaping hole at PF, if he was the "answer" we would be looking at another bleak outcome come next post-season. #2 im too lazy to check if thats an error u typed, but if he really average 0.08 blocks a game, gosh i think rafer might average more then that, we need a decent defensive presence at PF to hold off the all-star PFs packed in the western conference, if its a typo and u meant 0.8, thats slightly better.. but not breath-taking. Morey has turned the coaching stuff upside down and also done some crazy moves with the draft, with all this talk about trades, im hoping for somethign alot bigger than mikki moore in the offseason, if thats our starting PF next year then that would be very, VERY disappointing. if he was cheap, and we needed backup at the PF position i would say yes, but thing is we have our backup in chuck, and excellent backup imo, and a rookie in landry to develope. Morey better have a blockbuster trade for us to get us a athletic big man, able to mix it up with the best, if not that, then at least trade for someone with potential to become a force to be reckoned with (amir johnson ?) we dont have much to work with, and free agent market looks like crap for PFs so seems like trade is the only option to get the type of caliber player we want, i dunno if we are going to be able to trade vspan, shame , he seemed to be gathering a bit of interest according to some rumours, so that leaves us with sura's expiring contract, snyder, head, alston and battier to trade? i'd hate to see battier or alston leave, but we are packed with guards and it hink definitely some of them must be packaged and battier is wonderful but tmac and bonzi can both play his position, and if it was to acquire a decent PF which is our biggest need (wilcox?) then i think we'd have to pull the trigger. so yeh kinda went a bit off-topic, but general idea is SAY NO TO MIKKI MOORE.
I agree with most of you on this. Here's the thing: we just have to hope that Morey's relative inexperience as a GM wouldn't be compounded on his moneyball nature. Because frankly, anyone's per-48 stats is going to look decent at least playing with JKidd. Kidd basically made Mikki Moore, just like how he made RJ and K-Mart, except that RJ proved himself during that stretch a season or 2 ago when Kidd went out with the bad knee. Anybody that hasn't proven himself without Kidd, and then suddenly explodes playing alongside Kidd, I wouldn't even consider giving them more than what Rafer's getting.
I'd rather not, Moore is not what we're looking for in a big. His offense isn't that good, it's just a byproduct of a great point guard.
I don't mind Hayes starting IF we can't find anyone better. He has earned my respect last year, but at the same time, I see Hayes has many defects that would hurt our team in the powerful Western Conf.
why?>is that a serious question, he's a p***y, and jason kidd can make any scrub look good! -i dont see the rockets using there MLE on a piece of **** like moore. they'll go big via trade.
Looks like Moore is another PF to scratch off the Rockets list. http://www.nypost.com/seven/0709200...liams_as_moore_insurance_nets_fred_kerber.htm Moore has met with Chicago officials and has received interest from Memphis. He'd like a mid-level exception deal, worth around $6 million per. The Nets almost certainly would not pay that - sources said they offered three years at around $10 million and were rejected. The Nets have options open and have interest in big men Jamaal Magloire and Joe Smith.

Just wonder if Moore can defend Duncan or Boozer effectively. We need a PF who can play both defence and offence.
he cannot shoot without jason kidd he cannot dunk without jason kidd he cannot dribble he cannot shoot from the outside he is also a foul prone guy.. what else?
