Dachshunds are tough little bastards. They were bred to crawl down into badger holes and kill badgers.
Aren't they charging this as a criminal enterprise charge or whatever that is? They don't have to have video of him doing it to meet their burden of proof. He owned the property at which the dog fighting occurred He owned a share in the "kennel company" which was a front for the dog fighting circuit Witness can place him at multiple fights One of his co-defendants has now apparently turned on him to point to him as being the ring leader I don't know if our justice system will convict him, because if the defense can stack a jury with enough African Americans they might get him off. Whether or not he gets found guilty or not though, reasonable people can see that he is most likely guilty.
ummm...add testimony to, "we raided your home and found a dog fighting training ground...the home which you bought right after you were drafted...right around the time you applied for and received a dog breeder's license....right around the time you formed an entity called Bad Newz Kennels. oops. oh...and the testimony includes that of a witness who was paid $23,000 DIRECTLY BY VICK for his winnings at a dog fight. that part is in the indictment. and the feds are supposed to be adding charges this month. these are the way organized crime cases are proved up. testimony and the circumstantial evidence supporting it.
you wonder why I say you have something against vick, you keep referring to organized crime and the rico charges etc. chill out and the guy who said he got money from vick, its still just accusations, money or not.
1. it is organized crime. how is it not? it's a 9-state dog-fighting/gambling ring. 2. of course it's accusations. this isn't a murder case. there's no DNA evidence. what do you think they would have to prosecute this sort of crime?
There is a ton of circumstantial evidence as MadMax outlined above. In addition to the testimony, the dog training compound found at his house, the money trail, etc. If every crime required a smoking gun, 90% of people would not get convicted. Most people who own dogs consider them to be part of their family and killing dogs, torturing dogs, allowing dogs to be killed is barbaric and cruel. By the way, there are many studies that show a direct correlation between kids who abuse animals and propensity to commit violent crimes.
of course it is!! how is it not? and the jury looks at both sides and decides who they believe. and they'll make that decision weighing all the evidence at the time (including the fact he owned the home and an interest in Bad Newz Kennels).
And you're one of the It's Ok to kill and torture dogs activists because of this case. Amazing. If anyone tried to touch my dog, I would hurt them. And no, that did not arise because Michael Vick was indicted.
