I didn't see it, but this kind of thing seems to be becoming the "norm". Professional boxing is starting to look more and more hyped a la WWF. The overdone sensationalism is getting pretty ridiculous and tiresome. Nope, I'll stick with the matches on the Mexican stations. Now THAT'S boxing!
This has been blown out of proportion. I can't stand Tyson and can't wait to watch Lewis kick his crazy ass, but this was nothing.
When Tyson faces Lewis, Lennox will get Koed. Lewis has a glass jaw. It took police four months to finaly bring the rape charges to the DA, that usualy means that they have nothing good, certainly no DNA evidence. However DA's like the spotlight so who knows. The trial probrobly wouldn't start until after the proposed fight so I don't believe it will be a problem. I believe that Tyson biting Lewis was totally made up by the media, already it's being drowned out and not being reported that much anymore. One more thing, Mike had never had this type of incident before but Lewis has. Some are still trying to play Tysonologist in thinking they know Mike's intentions. Listen, if the best pychologists (and Mike's been to them all) have problems treating or even diagnosing Mike, no one on this board should be trying the same.
Mike claimed Lewis' bodyguard pushed or shoved him. I taped it and looked again. It happens so fast one can't really tell at first glance...but he did put his arm out to stop Mike or whatever, Mike actually swung at the bodyguard first then Lewis struck out against Mike. What was Mike gonna do? Sure Mike has a short fuse (understatement ), but that brotha bodyguard should know better to even touch Mike Tyson, the guy is CRAZY!
Tyson is a joke, and boxing as a whole is in that general area as well. Listen to Tyson's tirade at the crowd/reporters after the 'fight' at the press conference. The saddest thing here is that the Nevada commission is even considering let the nutcase fight. Staged or not, Tyson is well past apologizing for.
Who's apologizing? I love it! It's what makes boxing exciting. As long as Mike's not doing anything illegal, I'm all for him.
Does anyone please have a soundbyte of the after math. Ive been trying to explain just how horrible Mike sounded in the aftermath, but cant do it any justice. Please someone send a link or something. Or even a better video of it than the one from ESPN.
Yeah, the "aftermath" shenanigans were what made me think the whole thing was not staged and that Tyson really had flipped his lid. Did you count how many times he said to the (male) reporter that he would "F*** you in the a**"? And again, that he would "f*** you 'till you love me"? Maybe it's just me, but that went waaaaay beyond putting on an act. I think all that time in jail seriously affected Tyson's brain circuitry, not to mention his sexual proclivities.
