Forget about Miller. That won't make us contender. We need Artest !!
Send Battier, Head, Snyder and 1st round pick for Artest.

Granted he plays on a bad team, but Mike Miller isn't just a shooter. He averages 6.6 boards and 3.7 assists a game, too. Doesn't turn the ball over a lot, get a half steal a game...and yes, damn can he shoot. He'd be a perfect addition and is considerably better than Bonzi.

bonzi's a keeper? that's just laughable! why do people here believe in such nonsense?

bonzi wells is averaging 9 ppg on 42 % shooting as the supposed 3rd option on this team. the rockets are going nowhere with that. and it doesn't even include his lackluster defense he plays.

mike miller is way superior to wells. even defensively.

another point is that bonzi's contract ends after this season while miller has 3 more years to play (if i recall correctly).

if you can trade bonzi wells and other useless crap for mike miller than that's a no brainer. every decent gm would do that trade 100 out of 100 times.

If Bonzi keeps doing what he does best and improves his Free Throw shooting and stops all the low percentage shots he takes from the perimeter region,THen he will become a significant part of the team.
Not to say that we do need both Millers:p

Heard somewhere that Memphis is unloading their assets to sell the team, if that's the case we might as well take advantage and pry some talent for future picks. Reason fans want Miller is that he can do what MJ supposably could have done. That and filling the void of disappointment :p

Look at your sig before you wonder why people want Mike Miller. You want Darko, so please explain what exactly has he done in the playoffs, or the regular season for that matter. Plus Darko makes about the same as Miller does so its not like its any cheaper to get him.

I agree getting Artest would help, but you do risk the chemistry issue and you know he is opting out and you probably end up with nothing. I dont think you trade away Battier to rent Artest for 30 games.

the grizz had bonzi and he ended up getting banned from the playoffs. i doubt management over there would take a chance on him again. If so, then i would happily give them bonzi. he is was too inconsistent. who cares what miller did in the playoffs with the grizz...last time i checked we are the rockets and have a better core than memphis did the last time they were in the playoffs. yao>gasol, tmac>miller, battier=battier....

Playoff is whole different story. some players, especially jump shooters, just can not perform.

in playoffs, Battier<=Hayes, Mike Miller << Bonzi Wells.

haha, other than bonzi's one year with sacto that he dominated, what else is on his resume in the playoffs? And let me get this straight, you think Hayes is better than Battier in the playoffs? are you kidding? if either one of them gets fouled, who is gonna make a free throw? if they are open for the 3, who will make it? no offense, but you are way off on this one.

Did you notice on that video that most of Miller's 3s are a foot or two back of the three point line? That's serious range.

everyones talkin about the playoffs, lets get there first, and the addition of Mike Miller changes our look completely. You have to respect his 3 pt shooting = Yao/ Tracy domination. and those 9 pts in the playoffs are with the grizz and magic, neither a legit team in this era, and i'll take those 9 pts, thats three 3's thats gonna force the defender not to help out on Yao.... And his hair is awesome!!! ;)

You guys are jumping the gun here.

Yes, teams will respect Mike Miller's 3p shooting. But they're also not stupid. There're 5 guys out there on the court. Who will they rotate off assuming Miller is in the game with our best lineup? They won't rotate off Tmac for sure. Definitely not Yao. If Miller is that dead accurate beyond the arc, they sure as hell won't rotate off him. If Scola is in, I don't think they'd rotate off him either.

That leaves us with... You guessed it, they'll rotate off Rafer. Having just one Mike Miller in the game won't solve anything when Rafer is a liability. Teams will dare him to shoot, and he doesn't finish well enough at the rim or have a reliable mid-range game that he can get around what teams are giving him.

Mike Miller is a surplus. The more pressing issue right now is to get a point guard who can feed the post and also get his when teams dare him to shoot. Andre Miller fits the bill. He can bull his way to the rim or pull up for a short jumpshot and he's a good passer.

When we settle our point guard problem, then we can talk Mike Miller.

It's really not that simple. Teams can't always just rotate off whoever they want to guard whoever they want.

That said, I'm curious what role people see Miller playing on our team. I think he'd be great as a backup SG, but I don't think he'd replace Battier in the starting lineup. Shane's a career 39% 3-point shooter (39% this year as well), while Miller is at 40% for his career, 43% this season; and we all know Battier's shooting isn't his best quality.
