TOmorrow at 3Pm, it s the deadline for the trades!!!!
I am so excited!!! I hope that we get Miller. He is such good shooter, and he is perfect for our team. Lowry isnt bad too. He could help our pg situation a bit but Miller is the best guy that we could have!!!

Of all the trade rumors, artest, kurt thomas, etc.

This is the one that I actually like. If we give up bonzi, head, snyder, and francis for Mike Miller, our offense is going to improve dramatically. It'll also give more space for our young guys to develop. I see Brooks getting more playing time.

Win-win situation. I haven't been this excited about a possible trade for a very long time...

Now if we can just move Mike James' terrible contract I'll be in heaven.

    ...and voila it's a 5 star thread.

Miller would be perfect here and Lowry,if he could be had in the deal, is a player.

Mike Miller is good but if you have a Ron Artest available you do whatever you can to proceed with that direction. It's about attacking the basket and ungodly defense.. It's great to have outside shooters but when it's crunch time you need someone to take it to the damn hole!!!

Stop with the shooters and look for someone to take it to the rack. Draw the fouls, inject some athletic spirit into this team!!!

Did I mention he's probably the best defender in the WHOLE NBA!!

I'm with you, but.. if it comes down to Artest for half a season vs. Miller for a few years, I'd rather have Miller. Then again, it also depends on who we give up on each trade. Very interesting though!

not hot on Miller. Bonzi > Miller.

Don't trade Bonzi for just Miller.

I'd do whatever to get Artest.

As someone already mentioned, the only way I can see us getting Mike Miller is if we take Cardinals contract along with him. Considering Les ate Jackie Butlers contract to get Scola, theres a good chance he is willing to do the same to get Mike Miller.

If we get Mike Miller without giving up Bonzi it's a wrap with the way the rockets run their system playing defense and the ball movement on offense... we are set.

Side note: i hear the Spurs are closing in on aquiring Artest according to Realgm.com

Why are people so quick to dump Bonzi?

He is our only and I mean only slasher/finisher! He has been killing other teams lately. I just hope we can keep him in any trade!

    Just imagine this squad:

    Yao/Deke
    Scola/Landry
    Battier/Bonzi
    TMac/Miller
    Rafer/AB

If the story is true that the Spurs has an offer for Artest then you get Artest even if it's for half a season.. Remember Spurs has the funds to sign Artest for 4-5 years!!!!

Can you imagine Parker,Ginoboli,Duncan,Artest for 4-5 years!!!! OMG I can't stand it anymore.. If we sign Artest and he does test free agency well there will be a good chance he doesn't sign with the Spurs!

    Again!!

    Parker, Ginoboli, Duncan, Artest

    vs

    Rafer,T-mac,Yao,Mike Miller

It's a no brainer bwahah... And everybody is looking at half empty here.. What if Artest does resign with us if we do pick him up?

The question should be what impact on future transactions would an acquisition creat? Artest > Miller, but - with Mikey you get predictability of personality and salary. If both came at the same price which call do the Rox make?

I wouldn't want to give up Bonzi for anyone, but face it Bonzi's gone after this season because we won't pay what he's going to want. In Memphis he gets to showcase his talents better and hope for a big contract. Chuck wouldn't be a bad trade asset if they go for it since he isn't seeing playing time. Don't underestimate Miller, he's not just a shooter, he will sacrifice his body more than T-Mac does and his FG% is high for a reason. I just have a hard time seeing Memphis trading with us without Landry or Scola unless they are that desperate to unload him.

it's being discussed on radio programs in a bunch of markets... I'm sure somebody (chron) will pick it up and print it.

it's not like a printed rumor with a link makes it any more true than a radio rumor with a live feed or podcast, however

Why get Ron Artest just to have him opt out after the season is over? He's publicly declared that anyway. In addition, he's a knucklehead and a locker room cancer. More of an assassin for hire than a team player in that regard.

I agree that he is a great defender and a great overall player and would make our team better, but when you give up your team's future for half a season, one has to seriously reconsider.

I love the team chemistry we have this year. The old guys teaching the young guys (deke to landry), and the fun we're having on this 9 win streak. Why break that up?

Trading for Miller on the other hand for Bonzi, Snyder, Francis, and Head wouldn't hurt us as much as trading away Scola and Brooks for Artest. Plus Miller is great friends with Battier, and he'd fit in much better in the locker room.

I know that losing Bonzi is a concern, but his contract expires after this season anyway, and we could really use the shooting that Miller brings to the table. 50% fg with 43% 3pt? He has good size and range.

We have the 2nd best defense (behind Boston). But only the 17th best offense. I hope that getting Mike Miller will make us top 10. He'll certainly be getting open looks with Yao and TMac on the floor.

If the Rockets have to give up one of the rookie power forwards for Miller, I wouldn't do the trade.

If I had to give up one rookie, it would be Brooks. Any of the rookie power forwards for Mike Miller isn't worth it. Brooks for Artest is an easier pill to swallow.
