can we still trade sura's contract? also i would imagine that we would have to take on cardinal's contract if we are in the lead for miller.
This makes a lot more sense. The Rockets might still have to throw in a pick to make that work, but Memphis does end up saving a lot of money and the Rockets get a ton of value in return.
Remember Steve have that 2nd year player's option. So it's more like 2 years instead of 1. I don't know if Memphis is cool with that.
No. We bought out last summer. I'm a MM fan but I don't think the Rockets put Bonzi in the trade. RA loves him.
There's a story behind that that. The owner saw the frenzy that teams were having that summer, throwing their mle at several players. He goes into the Jerry West's office and starts complaining that why havent they spent their mle yet. West picks up his phone and calls Cardinal's agent. "Congratulations, we signed Brian Cardinal"
I'm sure that's true, and I'd hate to miss the opportunity to see what Bonzi can do come playoff time myself, but it's hardly a deal breaker. Especially if Lowry is in the deal too. Unfortunately, this all sounds too good to be true to me and I think it's all just wishful thinking. Slightly off subject, but do you guys remember when Lowry basically single-handedly beat us in the preseason? I imagine that would make him seem pretty desirable to us.
I'm sure that would be with Steve agreeing not to exercise his option. He wouldn't want to stay in Memphis and they don't want him. Easy deal there. The more difficult part would be including Bonzi with the wink wink deal that Memphis is going to cut him and he's gonna hang out for 30 days until we re-sign him.
If we get Mike Miller, I might pass out. Great, great things will be on the horizon for the Rockets if they can aquire him DO IT!!!
