we've been playing .778 for 27 games now. thats 33% of a season. we've even been doing this without tmac. beating teams like the spurs, developing our bench, and building real deal chemistry. dont look at the past 9 games. dont look at the last 13-14 games. go back 27 games. reality check against NOLA on the horizon you say? definitely. we got so close before we got a 7pt differential ref job against NOLA in the final minutes of the game. wasnt that without tmac? i'm still skeptical too, but give credit where credit is due. your rockets have been the hottest team in the NBA for, countem, 3 months. regardless of schedule, that is serious focus.
we go on a winning streak - easy schedule we beat a lot of the top teams - no satisfaction we lose - we suck even if we beat the hornets on thursday, are people really going to change their opinions? it's all about the playoffs. we're a great reg. season team. we all know that. if we win in the playoffs, everybody will bow down
I'm not disagreeing with your premise, but I think we may be a close second to the post-Korver-trade Jazz as far as hot teams are concerned.
Am I the only one checking the BBS every 10 minutes to see if something is close to going down? I can't live like this.
Thats because they are all rumors and are probably in one of the many "preposterous trade proposal" threads. But give that trade proposal I would pull that trigger yesterday. Mike Miller is a player and would no doubt do well playing with Yao.
i bet you also thought we would beat the jazz in 5 last year too. these are the rockets. for the past 4 years, we've beat the bad teams and lost to the good teams. with the way the west is right now, we're looking at yet another first round exit.
I hardly post but this rumor has me excited! I'm posting from my iPhone at work and have been refreshing espn every 30 mine hoping for a reason to go out and get sh$& faced tonight!
Not quite 2 months. Yes, they're 21-6 during that span. Extremely impressive, but it's very relevant to look at the opponents. The 21 wins have come against teams with a combined .424 winning percentage. The 6 losses (Pistons, Warriors, Celtics, Hornets, Sixers, Jazz) have come against teams with a combined .659 winning percentage. The wins have come against the Knicks (twice), Timberwolves (twice), Sonics (twice), Blazers (twice), Cavaliers (twice), Bulls, Grizzlies, Raptors, Magic, Knicks, Wizards, Spurs, Warriors, Pacers, Bucks, Hawks and Kings. Wins over the Spurs and Warriors plus ones in Toronto, Orlando and possibly Cleveland were pretty good. The rest would have been considered very disappointing losses had the Rockets not won. This is not a knock on the Rockets -- they're taking care of business. However, I don't think they're an elite team because of it. I will say the elite-level defense returning is making me more of a believer, but I don't think they should stand pat.
dont get yall's hopes up. i heard mike miller has a better chance of landing in cleveland if anything.
I wish Clutch had that power. Especially if the power wasn't to call Morey and tell him to make the deal, but instead to call the other teams GM and make them make the deal. "Hello, Mr. Paxson, Morey is going to be calling you and making an offer of Snyder, Francis, Wells and a resigned Sura for Lebron. You better f***in' take it."
Don't stand pat at what price? Sure if we can get Artest or Miller for a Brooks ,head, and fodder plus picks, but giving up Landry or Scola would take us back several steps. I don't think we have the pieces to make a significant trade.
yeah...cleveland DEFINITELY can not make a better offer than us. the only reasoning they could come up with for dealing with them over us is cus they're eastern conference and outside of their division. then again if they really cared about the conference they wouldn't have traded their best freaking player to the lakers for a half eaten bag of m&ms.
