Mike Miller is significantly better than any of our backups at the 2 and 3. The only concern with him is health. The Rockets should be making every effort to sign him.
He's not useless. He's a shooter and shooters will always be needed on a team with Dwight Howard. For the vet minimum? Absolutely.
He shot 61% from 3pt land in the NBA FINALS this year so I can see why you would think he is garbage.
Welp, we may not have the chance to pursue Miller after all. Woj reports that Cleveland is strongly considering claiming him. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--cavs-consider-waiver-bid-for-mike-miller-215056151.html I was almost certain he'd go unclaimed, but the Cavs are an exception to the usual rule, since they have a legitimate shot at LeBron next summer and Miller is on great terms with him (and would also be an excellent complementary piece on a contender). Would be a pretty savvy move on their part.
Do want. However, if Cleveland wants him at that contract, then power to them. I suppose if you legitimately feel like you have a chance at getting LeBron, you have to go all-in.
If the Cavs have cap room they could bid as little as they want and win him. They would only be responsible for the amount the bid, not the full contract. I think you are required to bid at least the minimum only. He's worth that obviously.
I don't see it either. Why would Lebron ever go back to work for Dan Gilbert unless he publicly kissed Lebrons ass on national TV. Same someone on ESPN say the only way Lebron could end up back on the Cavs if the people of Cleveland got Gilbert to sell the team.
It's been rumored the past few months that they've mended fences (LeBron and ownership), and apparently LeBron really likes Irving. Here's a good article from Woj on the LeBron-Cavs connection. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--r...future--super-team-era-ending--065716242.html
Ah, ok. That makes sense. Either way, if the Cavs want to outbid the next guy by a nominal amount for Miller, and if they feel like that gets them an iota closer to LeBron, then they have to do it. It's a good move for them both in short-term and long-term. I really would love to see Mike in a Rockets uniform though.
This just in: Heat waive Joel Anthony. Cavs will consider claiming him to help lure back LeBron! Yes, bringing in Mike Miller and Joel Anthony will definitely help bring back LeBron! REJOICE CLEVELAND!
Cavs really want Bron Bron they should not be going after so much middle of the road talent. I'd be more excited about Wiggins as a player to lure Lebron then signing Bynum and picking up Miller. Irving Wiggins Lebron Heck of a backcourt

Good to hear, hopefully Miller isn't claimed. By the way, Rockets can have up 20 players before the fina cuts. They have 15 now.
Miller has multiple rings already. Does he want to join another contender (Rockets) taking lesser money or just want to make the most money for of his last contract in average teams (Cavs and other teams with caps)?
He's going to get the same money regardless. Only difference is how much of his existing contract is paid by Miami and how much by the new team. He wants to play for a contender and has already said as much. Problem is, it's not his choice... comes down to whether Cavs will make a partial claim. Sounds like they will.
Y! Sources: As Mike Miller weighs back surgery, several teams cautious about making amnesty waiver claims. http://t.co/HO6Xgw0jsm Per Woj
