This is Mike Miller's version of "Playing for Yao Ming in China." Just a tactic to discourage bidding.
Yeah, just yesterday in his exit interviews with Miami reporters, Miller said that his body felt as good as it had in years. The "possible back surgery" seems entirely too convenient.
The Houston Rockets want to make a major push in the 2014 playoffs after they signed Dwight Howard and general manager Daryl Morey is looking to add two veterans who should hit the free agent market.
regardless of that we still have a need for an established player at either the 3 or the 4. We have parsons who is the only starter on the team that could play either position. I am sure Miller realizes Houston is probably the only place that he could be on a serious contender and seriously compete for a starting role or the 6th man role. Not saying he will but in his mind he has to see the opportunity there. If I was him I would think. I can definitely prove I am better then garcia, casspi, williams, jones and DMo. If he shows hes better then all those guys then he would be either the starting SF and Parsons to the stretch 4...or back up SG/SF and 6th man.
Hell no h20 on Camby. What is he like 40 now? He ain't Deke for the love... Oh and Miller competes for 6th man role, injures 6th man.
Miller cleared waivers, per Woj. Though he told the Memphis newspaper today that returning to the Grizzlies is a "definite possibility", so that doesn't sound encouraging for our chances. (Can't read more because it's behind a paywall). Kudos to Miller and his agent for the back-surgery bluff. Well played.
