I'd still take him with the hope that he can make something more of himself out of the shadow and influence of the Big 3. And perhaps Mchale could turn him in to something more than a jumpshooter.

But I'm not giving up Lowry for him, and I'd think long and hard about giving up Patterson for him. Scola, filler (Miller, Hill, etc) and a couple of first rounders is all I'm giving up.

Yeah it's an absolute joke to call this guy "tier 1" lol. You have to play both sides of the floor or be historically great offensively like Nash or Dirk to be tier 1.

Oh and when your entire game consists of hitting wide open 18 footers while the defense concentrates on not one but two actual stars, I would HOPE you could put up consistent numbers.

I'd trade up in draft rather than building around Bosh. He's softer than what you can imagine. Miami could have beaten Dallas if they gave all Bosh's mins to Haslem.

The Heat need a true post scorer and post defender. Scola would give them a threat in the paint, and supposedly Dalembert is interested in Miami.

I'd give them Scola plus our 2011 1st round pick for Bosh. Nothing more.

If the Rockets give up Lowry for a guy like that, no way I am rooting for that team! Lowry finally hit his stride and is going to be great for us this year!!!

bill simmons suggested this in his grantland.com article about the NBA:

i think that's too much for bosh, but i respect bill simmons enough to consider such a scenario.

Scroll down slightly, should be right there on the right- 'Jon Barry'

Chris Broussard: Trading one of the big 3 seems kinda ridiculous I guess but looking at who may be available, Paul or Howard, would you look into doing that? Trading one or two of the big three to get one of those guys?

Barry: Depending on the CBA, that might be something that has to be done. I heard some talk about Chris Bosh to the Houston Rockets for some players --Luis Scola being one of those. I think that would be a terrific move. But yeah I think that might...would be a panic move. I didnt think this team would win right away. I thought it would take time to put the pieces around these guys. They got further than I thought they would. I didnt think they would get out of the Eastern Conference. So I dont consider this to be a poor season. Championship or bust in their minds but wasnt for me. They did a lot of good things. Chris Bosh improved a lot, found out how to play with these two guys. LeBron and Dwayne showed great moments together. Its gonna take time but I wouldnt blow it up yet. This is the vision you had in mind. You were a couple games away from winning the NBA title. No need to overreact.

What does respect for it have to do with anything? I respect MJ for being the greatest player of all time... but he's still been a horrible front office guy?

That trade is way too much.

Not getting Bosh last summer was one heck of a lucky break. I'm not completely down on him... BUT, we know EXACTLY what he can do... which is help a lesser team lose in the first round of the playoffs, or be an OK power forward on a stacked team that makes a deep run.

Neither of those options are what the Rockets need... at all.

BimaThug brought up the fact that, if traded, Bosh's contract has a 15% kicker I believe that would make his contract pretty steep to take on.

Trading Scola for Bosh does nothing but put a newer and more expensive band-aid on this team. Scola has proven that he can pretty much match Bosh's production at a much lower cost and Patrick Patterson has shown signs that he, too, can potentially be a top flight player. If anything, the Finals has shown that Bosh cares a LOT about winning but he's also very hesitant to step up after seeing him pass up quite a few open 17 footers.

guys, guys, ALL OF YOU!!! The only player that is untouchable on our roster is.... NO BODY! Regarding that the right offer is layed out in front of us that is. Granted that Bosh is NOT a tier 1 star. However, he would most definitly be our best player. If given the opportunity, McHale would improve his post game and his agression effective immediately. Bosh is an outstanding player. If you disagree, type his god damn name in youtube. He is currently sorrounded by two of the most ignorant and childish talents in the entire NBA, that rubbed on his attitude and performance collectively. At toronto Chris was averaging 20-12 at best and at that time he did not have a solid point guard or centre for that matter.

Bring Chris to Houston, sorround him with Hayes' drive, Lowry's aggression, Martin's passion, that in turn would rub off on his own demeanor. On a serious note, if it means packaging Luis,Patt+fillers, i will condone the transfer. How can YOU not?...

Yeah... If we're gonna trade for a 28 year old $20 mil/year guy on "hopes" then I'd rather stick with Patterson who's already a better defender and just as good a jump shooter.

Bosh, no, thanks. We do not need him for the current team. At this point I think heats is going to try to move the queen James for Howard, I think they would have a chance to get Howard.

If we did trade Lowry/Scola and Patterson for Bosh that leaves our lineup.

    Dragic /
    Martin / Lee
    Budinger / Twill
    Bosh / Hill
    Hayes / Miller

With the #23, #14 in the draft. We could potentially combine those two with a Twill to move up and grab a guy like Kemba Walker. Maybe bring back a Carl Landry in the offseason and we are a better team going forward. If Yao comes back, you are a sure fire contender as soon as next year, if not, you are a team that fights for home court in my opinion.

The bottom line is we are a low 40 win team and we need stars. Bosh isnt the end all, be all of stars, but he is pretty freaking good. Morey has proved he can pull guys like Lowry/Pat/Lee out of a hat, but true stars, not so much.

In the end, I trust Morey's valuation of players more so than fans. Bosh just averaged 19 and 8 as a third option, and went 7 for 9 in an elimination game. He was one of only 3 Heat players last night with a positive +/-.

My only hesistation is the loss of Adelman. Bosh was the ideal PF for Adelman's offense.

LeBron and Wade would demand a trade if Bosh is traded. So no, none of the big 3 in Miami will ever get traded.

Why would they, anyways? They've got massive holes at PG and C to fill and so they'll never waste their energy tinkering the wing/PF positions.

IMO I think he can be had for something like Scola, Dragic, and filler. They would get something similar in return in Scola. Dragic is an upgrade over Bibby and Chalmers.
