Yes, I can hear them now! They love his turnover prone, bad shooting, poor defense style....it's practically DEAFENING: <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/S0ht2e26CeI"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/S0ht2e26CeI" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
Well we wouldn't be totally giving up a pick. We'd be swapping a low 1st round pick for a high 2nd round pick. That's fair. Teams rarely give up a guy for nothing but expiring contracts, especially in the summer. Even pure salary dumps usually involve a pick or player as sweetener. Unless they need the cap room, and with KG on the roster they have no chance of getting under the cap.
Yes, you know more than Tom Nisalke !!! I mean what does he know anyway? He was only an NBA coach.... SHEESH ! You need more than veteran players to win a championship.....Miami did it, but are you willing to bet on Tmac's back? We need another player who attacks the basket....relentlessly...V-Span is that guy. Technically if Mike James gets traded, doesn't he get a raise due to the trade kicker? DD
he is clearly not saying that....he is saying that vspan can develop into that hard nose pg that can drive the lane and provide some toughness much like sura did 2 years ago. there really isnt anyone else on this team other than tmac that can get into the lane at will and finish. luther can finish, but cant get into the lane very well. rafer can get into the lane but cant finish. of what little i have seen vspan play this year i do like him he will be a decent nba player some day i feel, maybe not the messiah some you make him out to be, but he can contribute and contribute significantly
Yes, you know more than Jeff Van Gundy !!! I mean what does he know anyway? He is only an NBA coach.... SHEESH !
Yeah he sure was an NBA coach, and a pretty unsuccessful one at that. There's a reason he's doing broadcasting. Put it this way, Tom Heinsohn is an NBA hall of famer - obviously as such his basketball qualifications are greater than mine. However, as a broadcaster, he made Walter McCarty sound like Kevin Garnett combined with Bob Petit combined with Karl Malone combined with bacon and topped with cheddar cheese with a side of onion rings -- does that mean that he was right when he declared him an All-Star, HOF quality player? I don't think so. Spanoulis sucked this year. Sad but true.
If he wants to get traded, he'll more than likely have to waive his kicker. Or he has to land on a team that can absorb his kicker amount with cap space or a trade exception.
While I like V-Span's prospect and think he can become a solid player, if Mike James is to come here, V-Span wouldn't see any minutes. You might as well trade him and see what you can get.
you don't remember that interview right before his trade? Garnett spoke highly about him and how they going to make something big! yea right... Mike James is a lost kid, he's 30 something and he has no goal in life
there is no way rockets would do a trade with Mike James I don't think they would even consider talking to that dude, I mean he made the whole organization look stupid by asking for a damn trade kicker!?! he did get ****ed up in that trade with Rafer, but he's just the player....
I have been a big Mike James proponent. But he is getting up there (32 this summer) and is off his worst shooting season among his last 3. I would prefer to target a PG a few years younger than Rafer (31 this summer). We could throw our full MLE at Mo Williams (URFA) or pursue a younger vet back-up on the cheap/LLE (Diener-R, Blake, Hart, Parker, Bell-R). That said Minny HAS to trade Mike James. If the cost is only filler salaries, maybe. Finally, VS and JL3 are young. They could get better and I wouldn't give up on them. But I want someone just in case they don't pan out as solid back-up PG quality--they need to be better than what they were this year or we need someone else.
Surprised he isnt smart enough to realize the trash that is the organization he's in and leave it. The reason people here keep wanting MJames is cuz they realize he's so flaky and here-and-there, him passing over Houston is seen as a random lapse in judgment and momentary stupidity. Rather than the hardball money-move it really should be taken as. I'd be suprised if the Rockets went after him a THIRD and 4th time, but it can always depend on if a good deal's in place.
the irony of him wanting a "no trade clause" in his contract, and now wants to get traded from Minnesota
