    Great move if it happens.

Dude's almost 30 and only averages 3.9 apg? I am not sure if I like him for the long term...

Oh well, Reese Gaines and second rounders, who cares? Plus, he's got to be better than Barrett and Strickland.

I guess the other good news is that this guy is close to but not over 30, like all the other starters save the big two.

Awesome trade. Not only does it fill our immediate, emergency needs, it also solidifies our PG rotation for the next couple of years. Now we just need to worry about a PF in the offseason.

The Rockets got him while he's hot too. In the month of Febuary he's scoring 14 pts, hitting 48 percent of his shots, 41 percent of this three's, and dishing out 4 assists. And the dude can defend better than most too right. not bad, not bad at all.

Yea, you're right. Maybe Ward was packaged in the deal. He apparently has a team option after the season which makes him a expiring contract. I could be wrong but you are right about thew contracts not matching.

I have seen little of MJ, but I've seen enough of Lue for a lifetime. Lue can put #s in up in certain situ, like Atlanta, but he fit here like a glove (OJ's).

The bad news is that eats up a little more than half of our TE, but it's certainly a worthwhile use of the TE.

To answer my own question, I doubt we pursue Daniels this offseason unless Sura has significant injury problems. I think we're set at point for another year or two.

True but, is he good enough to start?!? His stats are great (11.5/2.5/4, he jacks the 3 up too just under 40%) when given only 25 mpg, imagine when given 35! This is PERFECT IMO, and best of all no GP! Keep in mind, he is 30 however... What's the story on this guy, undrafted?, has a ring from Detriot?...

MoT for DA to round out a perfect deadline day for Houston!!!:D

Well, the one we should have signed is Mo Williams, their starter!

Much bigger than Lue(6'2/188 lbs). Much better defensively. Has shot 36% or better from 3 since 2002. Knows his role everywhere he goes kind of guy. Perfect fill in and a great backup for once Sura gets back. Shooting 45% from the floor this year, and very short contract.

Um, I believe we can't trade the TE with Gaines so this didn't use up any part of the TE.

His numbers look ok for this year.

TEAM G GS MPG FGM-A FG% 3PM-A 3P% FTM-A FT% OFF DEF TOT APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG
    MIL 47 0 24.8 205-460 .446 58-152 .382 67-90 .744 .50 2.10 2.60 3.9 .85 .09 1.70 2.40 11.

We could sure use the help.......funny that earlier in the year we were complaining about the PF spot and now all that has changed........lol

well - hes a young 30 because he came in the long road to the NBA (and he has never logged a ton on minutes)

as for his assists - that is in part because is minutes, but also other than Redd - who else to they have that can score

Replace "the season" with "next season" and you'd be correct. Mr Ward got a 2 year deal with a 3rd option - and I hope it's a team option.

Mike James makes $3 million this season in the 1st season of a 3 year deal. Gaines makes $1.2 million this season. This means some other dude is included in the deal to work the salaries out.

I'm glad the Payton or DA deals are probably dead. Not worth giving up first-rounders or potentially ruining chemistry.

    Great move.

An experienced outside-shooting guard for next to nothing (no offense Reece). I was apprehensive about whether the ROx would get a trade of note before the deadline... I sit corrected.

An otherwise boring Thursday is souped up with the NBA trade deadline. I haven't even checked my email yet and i've been at work for 1.5 hours already.
