Don't you remember, the vast majority of posters whining about how old Deke was. So many people were crying that he was too old and decrepit, and you have to know there were pages of bashing him just for being an ex-knick. Best of all, remember that great photoshop picture of Deke playing with a walker. Freaking hilarious. I don't remember who did that, but take a bow. Definately my favorite post of the year.
I was not that excited before the season started. I expected it to take quite some time before we got tough. After the season started, I imagined at least a couple of off-seasons before we could even compete for the WC. I expect now that we can possibly make the WCF, only 1 off-season to be a true 'contender' for it all, and 2 off-seasons (esp next year's!) to be a dynasty. All because of some v savvy moves and coaching. I'm quite excited now.
What??? I must have been out of town or something, does anyone have that pic? I would love to see it.
Good to hear. I believe that's the general consensus around here now. Except for some like those who still call for JVG's head *cough, edc cough*. Oh wow. I didn't see that either. I'd love to see that, too!
the big question: who will start when Sura returns, and does anyone else worry about chemistry between James and Sura as far as minutes and PT?
Sura will probably start and play about 30 minutes total at PG and SG we should see Sura and James at the same time also so it shouldn't be a problem
Am I the only one wondering if we could have worked with Reece Gaines he could have become a serviceable player for us? The guy has a good athletic body, just wondering if no one really has worked with his game. That said, I like the trade.
I think the guy that will be most affected by James is John Barry. Sura, James and Wesley will get the bulk of the minutes, and John's minutes will be reduced.
I think it will actually allow McGrady to get a little more of a breather since Barry can play more at the 3.
If James shows that he can handle the reins, then I look for Sura's minutes to go down. He was averaging 36 mpg in February, and that's just too much. If they could bring that down to 32-33 like the rest of his season's average, that would be great. And lowering T-Mac's minutes would be huge too. Maybe JVG will start running the 3 guard lineups a little more, with some combination of James, Sura, Wesley and Barry.
