James was the guy I wanted the get all off season. I still can't believe we signed Ward. DOH!

It took awhile and a detour through Milwaukee, but he made it.

BTW, his wife is from Houston.

Welcome Keiser, best 10 bucks you ever spent. Reminds me that I have to throw something in the TIPJAR soon.

will James pass the ball to Yao?

    -just kidding

great day for Rox. Helps our current team and gives us flexibility for the future.

Steve Kerr and Marv Alpert gave props to the Rox for getting Mike James. Kerr said he is a defensive demon and would fill a defensive hole we were missing. I can't wait until we play the Spurs or Suns again, want to see what he's got against Parker and Nash. Man, we were on a roll with just Sura, this guy might put us over the top.

Yeah he said excellent trade. Those 2 are my favorite commentators..of course ESPN or TNT dudes..Hubie Brown is a good one too.

Bill Calvin and Van Chance are the best :)

Right now, our second rounder is 53rd overall. The best guys picked 53rd or later over the last ten years are:

    Rasual Butler
    Jarron Collins
    Greg Buckner
    Ryan Bowan
    Mark Blount
    Shandon Anderson

That's 6 guys out of 62 that amounted to anything.

So the bottom line is, those 2 picks have very little value. Especially when they're likely to get lower.

    Mike James, sweet.

Tough defender, can shoot, dribble penetraton, great explosion on the pick-and-roll, TMac doesn't have to play point as much, no more leaving the point gaurd (not named Sura) wide open, did I mention defense, can move Sura to the two when TMAc rests.

    How sweet it is.

I love Van, he has become my favorite. Guy knows the game and conveys it with this down home style. Love Marv and Steve, one of the most informed teams on TV. The ESPN crews you can keep, all bluster no substance, you would think that a station that has a show like "The Dream Job" would have the best announcers not the worst.

Man, that was dumb. JVG must have let his sentimentality get in the way.

They could have kept him with a string of 10-day contracts... except that they probably had to take over his spurs deal. I'm sure no one else wanted him.

I haven't read this anywhere today on the board, forgive me if I am repeating someone, but:

We used out trade exception to make the James trade work. That hasn't been advertised anywhere that I have seen. This makes the trade look a little worse now, since that was another asset we had but no longer.

What's the point of the trade exception if you don't use it? Who did you think they'd get for it?
