I'm glad we have guys that want to contribute, but i don't see him beating anybody out of the rotation without an injury to one of our guards. Sad to call him and Francis disappointments, but they have been terrible so far. I was expecting at least him to pan out.
I'd be jumping for joy if we can trade Mike James. However, his contract is unmovable unless we are willing to take back crap with a bad contract. Personally, I prefer players who quietly cashes their checks while just sitting on the bench twiddling their fingers. If you can't help the team, at least don't try to hurt it. James is not worthy of being a rotation player given his play. It's not as if he never had a chance. He had one and screwed it up.
Expiring contract + 2nd rd pick to the Heat for James Brooks, 1st rd, James, to the Heat for Expiring contract + unprotected lotto
mike james should not be unhappy with his playing time. he should be unhappy with his playing....like the rest of us.
To be honest I'm surprised... I thought this situation would come by 15-20 games in the season. Mike James lasted longer than I thought. Given that, I have no problem trading him.
Mike James has been wanting to return to Houston for years. I doubt he wants to be shipped out. I'd much rather have Mike running some crucial plays than AB or Luther during the playoffs...and we will make it this year. We all know how valuable MJ was to us back during the Dallas series. We might have taken the Jazz down with him last year. Let him whine about the playing time, but his minutes will become more later down the line. Cod
MJ was not a horrible trade. we got rid of Jhoward and in return we got a sorely missed MJ. I hate how peopple all of sudden jumped on the bandwagon and start calling MJ sucks. There were two problems with MJ. 1. Morey made the trade with a mindset of JVG style or at least our problem of last season in mind. 2. MJ is showing his age and i don't think he was in shape while benched in minnies all these times. solution? 1.either MJ and SF play hard in practice and get in shape, AND practice to get their shooting touches back. take a lesson from alston. 2. Trade them for younger players or draft picks. seriously, i doubt we would make it to the playoffs. even if we do, we would be low 7th or 8th seed. which is sure to be a first round exit.
I thought he would be great this season especially when he played in the first couple of games =( Its a shame he sucks now and still dribbles alot
Man, I expected so much from this guy, he offered nothing. He doesn't care for the team rather himself. I am not calling him out, but he really needs to step out.
Ditto, he is a smoldering volcano...and this team is just now starting to come together, we don't need him. He doesn't fit..... And if somehow we could jettison Bonzi in the process and bring back Mike Harris......oooooooh baby ! DD
The bottom line is that MJ needs minutes to produce. Based on the law of averages, you would think his poor shooting would come around, but with the Rockets sucking so bad - drastic changes had to be made - someone had to step up. Unfortunately, there are other guards ahead of him that are flat out playing better (Brooks, Head, Alston). Gotta prove your worth Mike, and frankly you just arent fitting in with the current offense because your style of play (must have ball in hands) doesnt flow well with what we have going on now. Time to dig deep, make some key shots when you are called upon and sack up - otherwise you will be riding pine all year long.
It doesn't look like he's disruptive to the team-- perhaps he will be later on, but he hasn't been. His jumper is broken, but there is nothing to indicate that he's been a bad guy in the locker room. All that he said was he wants to play, and isn't happy about not playing. Jonathan Feign has reported that Rockets would like to shop him, though, due to his contract status-- 3 more years at the MLE-- the most expensive among the Rockets' 5 small guards. There probably isn't a deal that Morey likes enough to make, though (he's probably waiting for a trade that enables Rockets to get some salary relief, rather than one with equal or greater salary).
Yep, if the Rockets can trade him for some relief, I think it gets them under the lux tax area...and I am sure Les would like that especially for a piece that is not in the rotation. DD
get trade MJ, rockets would more than likely have to take on a worse contract and probably not much of a better player ...something like snyder/MJ for crawford? then bring in harris
Instead of dumping money, why not look to make a deal that would net us a player who can possibly contribute in the rotation? I'm sure there are some bad teams out there who think Mike James can help at the PG spot and are willing to trade us a spare part or two.
