First of all, how do you know it frustrates T-mac. Second of all, T-mac isn't Yao. Just because he runs the floor doesn't mean James has to give it to him. The job of the ball handler is to take it to the rack unless he's stopped. Overpassing it would just give chances for the defense to set.

Yes, James was a ballhog in that game, but who the hell cares. If you guys didn't know that when we traded for him then you're all crazy. As for Francis, He made all those crazy shots at the end of the game and is not the reason we lost it. He's the reason we were leading. The problem at the end of the game was Luther, as much as I hate to admit it.

not one person has mentioned how last night was mike james' "spotlight" night.

he had an entire 30 minute special on him before the game started....

i wonder if they played the special on the jumbotron at the toyota center.

regardless, this was like mike james bobblehead night for him.

all his friends and family tuned in, i'm sure, so this was his night to really
take his shot. he shot over 41%, and he was providing offense when everyone
else was clankin'. player of the game. and for good reason.

be happy people. we have talent overload this season!!

if you listened you could tell it was old because of the games he was discussing but I do agree it should be noted that those comments were made while he was with Toronto.

Mike Bibby shot the ball first also.
Its just preseason and new team members just want to make an impression.
I'm thinking Ricky A lets his point guards have the green light whenever they want.

Steve is a way better PG than MJ...
Yeah.. a MJ can shoot, but a PG is suppose to create offense for others, not just attacking baskets.

I listened to Mike James make his after game comments. Obviously he had been criticised for his play. Well if you listen closely you will realise that Mile James is a CON MAN he tells you one side of his mouth what you want to hear then on the other side he tells you what he does and what he is going to do. Which of course is just the opposite to what he just said.
Coach 'A' needs to have a long one on one with this young man before he destroys the team concept. :p

On a night that showcased some bad shooting from Yao, T-Mac, Battier and Scola it was nice to see James actually hitting his shots.

I'm certain that if James had been constantly passing to other players only to have them continously miss, many of you would froth at the mouth denouncing James for not being more agressive by shooting more.

Just one game, can not draw a conclusion, but MJ needs pass the ball more to be a starter, SF3 is too old, and Rafer can not shot, still need a true PG.

MJ is the AntiStockton. Everyone else's assists go up when he's on the floor.

I don't know what the complaints are about. Utah serious, we complain nobody can take the scoring load from Tmac and Yao. Now we finally get somebody who can freakin score, we complain about him taking shots away from Tmac and Yao. Now just tell me what do you want... ;)

You know, ballhog or not, you only win by score more points than your opponents. I don't care who does it, as long as he puts the ball in the basketball at a faster rate than your opponents.

The answer is just let him do it with the 2nd unit.

If I was Adelman, I'd put him in the backcourt with Francis for these last few preseason games and let them fight over the basketball, don't say anything to them. Then stick one of them back in at a time with the starters to see if they learned anything.

James' shooting is tremendously better than Francis'. But I did see Francis giving up the bball last night when on the floor with McGrady.

The rule should be if you wanna play with the big boys, you gotta give 'me the rock, PERIOD.

You make a good point. But it is kind of telling how the issue hasn't gone away even after almost two years after that.

Mike James does not play within the flow of the game. This is the main reason why he doesn’t stay with teams very long. He has played for Miami, Boston, Detroit, Milwaukee, Toronto, Minnesota, and Houston within a 6-year period.

His best year was with Toronto during the 05–06 season. This was the year that he had great numbers. Unfortunately, his team went 27- 55 with a .313%. Chris Bosh basically called him a ball hog after openly mentioning that they need a pass first point guard. The next season James was gone and Toronto won their division. When James was with Minnesota he tried to become a playmaker but was not very good at it. At that point he started to jack up shots and was benched for Randy Foye who was a rookie.

Mike James is not an NBA starting point guard. He will have really good games at times, but will never be consistent enough at the point, especially when you want to get the ball in the hands of Tmac and Yao.
