But like someone said in other thread, Stoudamire was choosing between LLE and $17M thru 4 years deal for Grizz.

James (presumably) has MLE offer on the table and it's IMHO highly unlikely he'll be getting THAT much bigger offers from other suitors.

One thing I'm confused about is I remember reading we were going to bring V-Span over here. If that happens that would mean part of MLE would be taken away and it's highly unliked James would go for the MLE. I'm not even sure he's going to go for our MLE. So I'm thinking we're not bringing V-Span over if we sign Mike James unless there's a sign and trade.

Maybe we should use a part of the MLE for VSpan and sign-and-trade with Toronto for James (use our TE).

the chances are pretty slim that spanoulis will be a houston rocket next season.

    1. he wants to stay in greece to accomplish something with his team first.
    2. he's certainly not nba (read jvg) ready and the rockets are in a win now mode.

In the article posted earlier it states that JVG was at MJames Houston doorstep at 11:01 PM. This is the negotiation that took place between 11:01 PM and 11:02 PM

Van Gundy: Please. please, please! I never wanted to trade Mike in the first place, ...I loved his PG skills. And I promise he can jack up 3's in the fourth quarter all he wants!

Mrs. James: Wheres the MLE contract? I ain't movin' back to Canada. Is it in your briefcase?

Mike: But honey, ...wait, we may be able to get more from Atlanta!

Mrs. James: Shut up and get the pen!

Juwan makes $5.9MM - about right for MJ.

Would the Raptors do a sign & trade MJ for Juwan? 2 more years on Juwan's contract - i think.

If JVG says VSpan is not ready then I call BS. Van Gundy has said on numerus occassions that he does not watch college ball and only pays attention to NBA players which is why he does not involve himself in the draft, so I really don't believe anything he say's about VSpan or if he has any damn clue about the guy at all.

VSpan has was one of the best players over there last year and others that are suppose to be in the know have said that he looks damn good. Most of us have seen him play on NBA TV which is probably more than JVG can say.

VSpan has hieght, athleticism and skills. He is clearly the best prospect that we have so I would love to get him over here but I don't think he will except 2nd round money to come.

That would be a dream come true. Then we would still have the the trade exception and all of the MLE to do with as we wish.

Yeah and then we would have no PF and it could be hard to find a starting one.

Battier, Hayes and Novak. Maybe even Lonnie Baxter.

The question is would the Rockets be better served trading Howard and and using the trade exception and MLE on other assetts that could include VRad, VSpan, Jarred Jeffries or one of many other possible additions to the team.

I think if you could trade JHo for James then the Rockets would gain a lot more than they would loose.

Yeah that was what I was thinking. It's probably the same pipe that dreamed up a Francis, Cat and Cato trade for TMac. It will never happen right?

Give me just one reason why Toronto wants to pay Juwan $6 mill+ for the next 3 years while they are developing young talent?

Dallas is also going to make a huge push for James, according to local ESPN radio in Dallas. Looks like they are going to try for Cassell (whom I don't think they will get) and James is also in their sights.

That would suck. He's been a Mav Killer in the recent past.

Zero front court depth behind Bosh and Bargnani.

Bargnani might still take a year or two before he is ready to be a full time player.

Both Bosh and Bargnani are extreamly young.

Villanueva was traded for TJ Ford since they already expect to James to leave.

Did I mention Zero front court depth?

If Mike James decides he is going to sign in Houston for the MLE Toronto might be willing to do a trade for JHo for....Front Court depth and much needed veteran leadership.

Behind Bosh and Bargnani they now have such proven vets as:
    Pape Sow
    Joey Graham

Both young, both un proven. You tell me why they might be interested in someone like Juwan for as couple of years? It should be obvious.

If Cassell wants 8m/year I'm sure Sterling would be glad to do a S&T for Harris's or maybe even Daniels's contract .

Sorry, but this is a pretty clueless comment. Go read the "VG at Mike James' door" thread and look at the numbers.
