No No one in their rite mind will start a thread on this we cant handle his salary or his bad attitude. He needs the ball to much. I may still be technically a rookie but before rooks are added to the site we need some sort of thing explaining to them that trades just dont get stewed up when your dealing with a contract like randolph!
O god.. no... I like James, but he wants more the MLE, he wants close to max according to a recent interview. this means that in order to get him, we have have to do a SIGN AND TRADE with Toronto. And We'd have to give up someone like Head... I like James.. but i dunno if a sign and trade will actually make our team better... Of course I could be wrong and James accepts MLE, that'd be the best case scenario..
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/basketball/nba/06/30/raptors.bucks.trade.ap/index.html T.J. Ford just got traded to Raptors for Charlie Villanuea. Could have a sign and trade ready with houston since they got a PG and dont need Mike James anymore. Someone make a thread bout this.
We could give up J-Hoe since they just got a little thin in the front court. and he gets something like 6 and a half million this year right? So we could sign mike james for 7 mil and bring him year.
Or we could just give him the mle and you could stop telling people to make threads about things that dont need their own threads!
Instead of repeating yourself, why don't you put something like 'Please let me make a new thread' in your signature?
The Rockets can offer Mike James about $32 million or so with the full MLE (full money/full years). If they can get him with the MLE they definitely should do it. However if Mike James thinks he's worth more than that, especially at his age, then he's off his rocker. It doesn't really matter what he demands, asks for, or says he needs to get, no team is going to offer anything more than that amount. Honestly the $32 million is probably overpaying, but with the state the Rockets are in they should do it. But for James to be looking for more than that is ridiculous.
I like the thought of MJ coming back; but I don't like the SnT, because I don't want to give up LH(which it would take to get it done).
I don't really think so, if James really wants to play in Houston and the Rockets will offer the full MLE, james doesn't have much bargaining power to make something like that happen. Then again with the recent moves by Rockets management they might give Head (player and well you know) and throw in a first round pick, then say they "owned" the trade.
Well, according to SI.com "Only five teams have significant cap room (Bulls, Hornets, Hawks, Raptors, Bobcats) to make a run at a top-tier free agent. The league's 25 other teams can only offer a deal starting at the mid-level exception (around $5 million)." http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writers/marty_burns/06/30/free.agent.tracker/index.html So there doesn't seem to be too many teams he can go to as an FA and make huge money.
based on that, only the Hawks have a need for MJ and are really the only team that would over pay for his services. So it comes down to playing for a playoff team or going to Atlanta and playing out the rest of your career on a loser infront of 8 to 10 thousand fans a night.
http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/sports/basketball/14945789.htm john salmons looks like he'll be availble.....
What if Tracy throws him a cool 2.5 million in a Swiss Bank acoount on top of the MLE. and he somehow receives a Adidas shoe deal. And what if Yao throws in a Mac laptop and some of those GPS systems. Come on, we could really benefit with James here off the bench.
Looks like JVG has already visited MJ, its about half way down http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=stein_marc&id=2506375
