He had a good game. 9 assists means he was still passing the ball. Just give him props and be happy for a guy that used to play for us. Nothing more, nothing less.
JVG is as guarded and careful as anybody in the NBA. How could somebody possibly know the content of a conversation between JVG and Tracy? Just because you work for the Rockets, doesn't mean that you know insider secrets. Some of these so called "insiders" are probably pissed because they don't have any bulletin board material the way they had it during Rudy's time. Speculation
eh I semi believe it of course it couldn't of been from van gundy but it could be about a million other people in the huddle that game lol
You heard it from somebody who heard it in a bar from somebody who's a neighbor of Van Gundy who might have heard JVG and his wife arguing about it That's as reliable as it gets
I didn't misinterpret anything. Clearly, I interpreted correctly the post that misinterpreted the post above that one which turned out to be the actual misinterpreted one. In the end, there was only one person who misinterpreted anything and I was not the source of said misinterpretation. Get my meaning?
don't forget what James said his first few days on the raptors.. "I play for the name on the back of my jersey, not the front" im glad we got alston..
as well is he is playing....his team is still 0-8. i like mike but you can't have a shoot first PG with tracy mcgrady and yao ming on your team. it doesn't work.
Thanks for sharing that IC200. I'm glad T-Mac reacted like that. I had the same reaction to that last play as well. Remember theres only about 70 to 80 shots a game to go around. With Yao and Tracy, he is not going to get the same amount of shots. With that said, what he's doing, shooting at such a high percentage for a guard, is pretty impressive. It wouldn't have worked here though.
I'm a James fan, I feel that most of you don't give him enough respect as a basketball player, but I do agree that he was not a good fit for this team.
I have tons of respect for MJ but I just think the situation and timing were not the best for him and the Roxs.
MJ is a great scoring guard. Alston is a great facilitator of the offense (at least we think he will be once he get set in our system). We desperately need both, actually. However, we need a good offense facilitator a bit more than a third scoring option because Alston solves two problems: 1. Get the ball to Yao at the right place so he doesn't waste so much energy chasing after errant entry passes and battling for position. 2. Give T-Mac a rest in the backcourt and give him a little break so he can play off the ball instead of be the primary ballhandler all the time (see Kobe last year). I miss MJ and I wish him well, but in this league, unless you're dealing with brain dead GMs like Isiah Thomas, you need to give up something good to get something good. The jury is still out on Alston and it is early in the season. Let's give him a chance before we crucify CD.
9 And Alston had to be benched by his coach last season because he was a malcontent. The logic in this thread is awesome. Mike James goes for another unbelievable efficient night, and this time throwing in 9 assist, and people still actually believe he hurts his team. Both instances, the raptors lost because they don't play defense. Look, I supported the trade, but Mike James was good for this team. The team only got better after each trade last season, this whole argument that he was bad for the Rockets is revisionist history. And this argument that he's bad for the raptors because of his shoot first mentality, well they had the Rocks pg and his pass first mentlity last season, and they sucked.
We will find out later who got the better deal. Before trade,Rockets looks like need passing more than scoring. So we got Skip. After trade,Rockets looks like need scoring more than anything else. So we miss MJ.
