At least James has a ring in his bag. But if he is that good, why doesn't Detroit bring him back?

sounds great.... but $hit we all heard that same crap from barry, and fisher... Im just not going to let my hopes up til the ink dries.

James and K. Clark would be nice and cheap... stealing D. Miles, Wade, or M. Fizer for cheap would be nice too but those are pipe dreams.

A Lue/James backcourt would be good.

Please don't forget that the guy is a 3rd year player but he just turned 29. He's not "young".

He's 6'2. Does anyone know if he's closer to 6'3 or 6'1? Or is he really a solid 6'2?

His asst/to ratio is impressive, his 3-pt shooting is great. His FG% could be better, but a large portion of his shots are long-range, so it's understandeable.

Sounds good if he comes for a Pike-like deal.

When I watched him in the Finals..he seemed tall. I heard he likes to play big...sounds good I'd like him.

Money management. The same reason they had to let Okur go. DET will ultimately have to make a choice between Hunter and James as a backup for Billups. Trust me. I watch a lot of Cektics games and they'd take James back in a heartbeat....lots of Tommy Points!

maybe they'd like to have Mo Taylor behind Miller/CWebb. how about Taylor for Christie + Massenburg? I know Christie is known as a 2 guard but he definily can handle the ball. he can be a Ron Harper type pg for the Rox with JJ & T-Mac all can bring the ball up. he can knock down open 3s, find open teamates, and a lock down defender. Massenburg surely is old but still managed 13.4 very productive minutes/game for the Kings last season, and that's all we need behind Yao. remember, if all we need to give up is Taylor's $9mil. per contract.

Does anyone remember those 2 plays in the Finals when James was put in the game and scored consecutive layups. It was about as much impact as a guy can have in less than a minute. I think he cause a steal on the first the play and got a layup. On both plays he took it to the hoop all out. It was a big momentum shift in the game. He seems to be a pretty good player, I wouldn't go the whole MLE but half would be cool.

James looks closer to being 6' 0'' but he plays big and is strong and doesn't make many mistakes. He can make a decent entry pass and I think he is around Lue's skill level. I would give him around 3 million for 3 years at the most. He would be better than Charlie Ward.

the Heat, the Lakers and (his preferred destination) the Rockets

Heat cant offer him much, lakers i dont think can offer much either.

He will be had for cheap. ANd his choice is the rockets. CD get it done.

    Good PG.

But, I'll believe it when I see it (when, and if we do sign him).

I'd take him for half the MLE, 3-year contract.

Very refreshing, especially after the Charlie Ward Scare of '04. A guy who should be had reasonably cheap, doesn't make too many mistakes, works hard, plays good defense, and WANTS to be here.
WHY is he not here yet?

Lakers can't give the whole MLE to a backup PG. They still need a C, and it looks like they're getting Divac.

Miami spent half their MLE on Doleac, so they don't have more than half the MLE.

So basically they can only offer 2.5M.

I'd give him 3M a year and the best chance (out of the 3 teams) at a starting job. Give him 9M over 3 seasons.

This really sounds like the best choice. He has championship experience, good shooter, good asst/to ratio, can set up the play and then play off the ball. He's very tenacious apparently on defense and he's got good size.

I don't know why we don't do this. We'd still need a backup C, which we can acquire with one of our PF's or a part of the TE. Once we get that, renounce whatever's left of the TE and don't use the rest of the MLE.

It would really be great to deal with Seattle right now:

    MoT for Booth and Daniels.

Here's a deal that MOST Seattle fans on the RealGM board are ok with:

Spoon, 2.5M of the TE, and a second rounder for Daniels and Booth. That's a dream trade for us, except it would make our payroll too high. If there is anyway we can do that and then send MoT's contract out, I'd be ecstatic. Here are a couple of ways to lose MoT's contract:

    - MoT for either James or Potapenko, involve Atlanta to make it work.

    - MoT to Boston for Yogi Stewart and Chris Mihm (both expiring contracts). We give them a much superior player, they pay cash in the form of: Mo's last 2 years minus whatever they would have paid a free agent Mo Taylor over 2 years.
