Landry gets cut, then he can take his chances with another NBA team like the Hawks or Clippers. Last I checked the Clippers sort of sucked at PF without Brand. Failing to get on an NBA team, Landry can always opt for the Euroleague. See, he and his agent aren't so dumb after all were they? Landry gets $450,000 and a chance to crack the Rockets roster. If he doesn't he can sell himself to the highest bidder and best opportunity for himself.

Landry would only get what is gauranteed (isn't it <200K) and then he is on his own, with no NBA team helping him train and learn and latch on with a Euro team or whomever. He would be on his own and marked as a player who didn't want to do what the team who drafted him wanted him to do.

    good luck

    dead on

Harris fits....athletic, aggressive, constantly motoring, AND knows how to put the ball in the hole.

He may not play tons of minutes in the rotation, but when you got a guy that fits your system better than other guys, you gotta make the right choice.

He could easily see more time if the unthinkable happens and something happens to one of our other swingmen. Bonzi hasnt been invulnerable lately, and as much as Tmacs back hasnt bothered him lately, that possibility is always looming.

Woudnt it be nice to have Harris on the bench waiting to step up if one of these guys goes down?

That is something Novak, JL3, Landry cant do....and I have my doubts about Snyder (who is the only other guy to go to in that case).

I really think the Rockets should keep him. I hope they find a way.

How is he not perfect for Adelman's system, even if it's just as insurance? I didn't even mention his insane rebounding rate for his size. Speaking of size, I doubt being 6'5" would hamper him in any way considering the smallball lineups Adelman is bound to toss out there. Let's face it. It's been a long time since we've had anyone who could consistently finish on the break, even including TMac depending on how his back was feeling. With the amount of fast breaking that's being prognosticated, don't we need some guys to...you know...actually score when we get to the basket?

Unlike Van Gundy's system, it's not about being a disciplined veteran. It's about being a basketball player, and Mike Harris sure looks like one to me.

Seriously, we can groom mike harris to take the power guard spot that bonzi is going to abandon for sure next summer when he goes for big money. Harris is like a shooting chuck hayes but hayes is a much better defender. Harris is essentially what we thought Landry was gonna be out of college. So what if we spent 1 million to get landry, we are gonna have to spend a million to cut snyder and reed. Better to keep the superior players than worry about those extra dollars we are gonna save.

Didn't watch his game much. For the parts I did catch a glance, I'd say he's a keeper.

I live out of Houston for most of the year, so I haven't been able to see any of the coverage yet. I'll get League Pass once the regular season starts. Anyways, he sounds like a good guy to have on the roster. I'm assuming and kinda hoping the first 4 cuts/moves are Sura, Reed, Lucas, Novak.

I think Landry will make the roster in favor of Harris. I remember a quote by Morey saying that Landry figures to be a part of the Rockets' future plans. When he signed him to that contract, he fully planned on him being on the roster this season -- I don't think that's going to change.

With that said, Snyder needs to be the final cut for Harris to make it. It's unfortunate because based on what I've read here, Harris should make the roster. So unless they cut Snyder or trade for some picks, I don't think we'll be seeing Harris during the regular season.

Looks like Mike Harris can be a poor man's Gerald Wallace.

If he continues to perform at this level after 3 or 4 more pre season games, there is NO EXCUSE not to keep him.

Anybody have any proof after one preseason came, that Mike Harris defense isn't as good as Chuck Hayes. He certainly didn't look like a defense liability, lets wait and see before we say Chuck defense is superior to Harris.

I wasn't concern on Mike Harris until last game. I saw how he played and...man, he looks good, very good. Outside shots and pretty nice dunk. I really want him to stay cause he can help us. Really

I think he is like a poor man's Shawn Marion....he plays with a lot of intensity and speed and is a quick leaper.

I like him more than Hayes.

Agree. He really looks like a weaker version of Marion. Not very tall but pretty guick, athletic and can make shots from the outside.

I want him play more minutes tonight

If this is true then we need to keep him.

We NEED guys like Josh Howard, who may not be great at one thing (specialists make me puke), but is pretty good at doing everything.

In short, if Mike Harris is a basketball player then we need him. This team has lacked that for some time now.
