this team is short dude. our starting lineup isn't undersized, but our entire bench is. luther is tiny for a SG (not only height but mass); aaron brooks is tiny for a PG; chuck hayes is playing power forward at 6'6. carl landry is listed at 6'9 but he's really about 6'7. mike harris has good size for a SG/SF, but the problem is he's too slow to really play either of those spots and he's too small to be a real power forward. bobby jackson is the only player off the bench that i'd say has average size for his position.

Shows something is very very wrong if a guy signed weeks ago will be in the rotation. The 2/3 position will probably get a good overhaul this offseason.

mike harris and luther head are completely different players. they offer different things and adelman plays either depending on the matchup. Head's 3 point shooting is greatly needed. the only player cutting into head's minutes would be Brooks and thats not going to happen.

When I see Harris taking 3s or jumpers I feel sick so I'd pick Luther. But at least Harris is able to finish inside.

How about playing Novak instead of Harris :D?

Our team has 3 players who are very tall for their position tmac, yao, and Deke, the rest of the starters are average height but everyone on our bench (who plays) is undersized.

Harris is a solid pickup for not giving up anything though...and i definitely wish everyone would stop harping on fg%, its easy to shoot 50% when you only put the ball up when right around the basket. He's only in for matchups though because our offense is much better if Head is in.

...and WTH is a power SF, he's an ol' school SF (like back when Horry was one) who doesn't have much range or handles. He plays at the 4 most of the time because most teams (except maybe the ones we just played) forget the 3 position and play two 2's.

I really don't understand everyone's problem with Luther's defense. We were able to be an excellent defensive team with Head playing significant minutes last year and from what i've seen in the games he is a good defender. He does gamble on steals a little too much and that's his biggest flaw defensively. We have much bigger problems on defense than Luther Head. RA benched him last game for matchups defensively so Utah can score 105 on us?

I know DD is going to stand behind his man, but harris is a tweener that shouldn't be playing and luther is a situational guy. Either way, neither does eonough to effect the outcome.

As long as Luther doesn't try to create, and is a spot up 3 shooter, Luther > Harris.

Where Luther gets into trouble is when RA has him run point, and he tries/dribbles too much.

Outside of Novak, Luther is probably our most reliable 3 point shooter.

According to the radio guys the Rockets talked to Harris about coming in at the 3 due to the bigger Nuggets wing players. They said Battier also gave him some pointer since he was taking his spot.

I am sure they did. If they haven't been telling him that and working on that since he was signed for the rest of the season would be disappointed. There are three rotation players before him in the PF spot. To get pt he was going to have to play the 3 spot.

But the truth of the matter is, Battier was out... we needed someone bigger in that spot in the Denver game and Mike Harris fit the bill. It wasn't because he is moving ahead of Luther in the rotation.

Yeah, I think it was a matchup issue. Not to mention, BJax was out as well which meant Luther would get some time at the 1.

luther is good, under JVG he was strictly a 3 pt shooter, if you rmbr the guy in college he was insane, just give him time he may come back to himself under adelman
