ESPN revising history again. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id...-dantoni-telling-houston-rockets-return-coach "D'Antoni, whose contract expired with the end of Houston's season in the Western Conference semifinals on Saturday, turned down extension offers prior to the season. He will be considered among a group of candidates for the Philadelphia 76ers coaching opening, sources tell ESPN." LOL good riddance. They forgot to mention a extension was never offered to begin with.
What rose tinted view? I've just admitted Trez had flaws. You're HEAVILY defending Mike against any flaws any one brings up.
Harden's too thicc and slow for MIKE D....Their styles were not meshing. They probably get along though.
Not to mention that Maori wanted to hold onto the Trezl but the Ciips insisted he be part of that CP3 trade. So it wasn't like they gave up on him, it's that they didn't deem him important enough to block CP3 from coming to the Rockets, and that was absolutely the right call regardless of what happened afterward.
Good for D'antoni - he knows damn well the Rockets can't win w/ this roster. The Rockets might as well fire Morey too. Organization has underachieved so much. It's the same story every year, so typical. Sad.
MDA and the rockets absolutely had talks of extension in may 2019 which is prior to the season. Tilman had his offers and MDA had his parameters. MDA never agreed. There's nothing false about that report
Im just saying he would have played Dort, he got heavily out cocahed this series and we needed to move on. Yall are the ones who are insisting to me that he wouldnt have played him. Trez had flaws in his game which is why he didnt play in a key playoff games. He didnt have the impact Dort would have had on someone like Kawhi.
harden never played for rick adelman. Mchale and MDA were trash immediately before, during, and after the rockets
What offer did Tilman have? He was crying about a extension, and starting the year on a lame duck contract. I guess you don't remember but I'll remind you. Tilman didn't want to give it to him. LOL Parameters or not, what Tilman was offering was a courtesy offer. MEANING HE NEVER WANTED HIM BACK. I see what your saying in print it seems like he turned down a LEGIT CONTRACT offer, but in reality it was never meant to be accepted.
How do we know he wouldn't have the impact if he never played and he showed already during the season that he could play big games? That's the thing man, MDA always has short rotations. I don't think anyone here really believes MDA would have played a rookie who can't shoot. Every single player has flaws, that's not a good reason at all. Rivers has flaws. Tucker has flaws. Roco, flaws. Gordon, flaws. All of these dudes have major flaws in their game and all of these players MDA religiously runs out there. Obviously Trez had issues otherwise he wouldn't have been a 2nd round pick but great coaches do coach up players. You think Popovic didn't know Tony Parker had flaws? Parker had major flaws, even in his prime, Popovic is an expert though at knowing what players are good at and how to best use them to contribute to the team. It's why no matter what team you give him they are respectable.
you don't have contract extension talks and not have any actual offers. that makes no sense. And then when you break the talks that means neither side agreed on the offers on the table Of course I believe Tilman doesnt support MDA. there's been plenty of clues for that. But Tilman's an idiot so that doesn't say much haha
Look at him right now, Doc only played him 15 minutes and his stats are garbage......whats the excuse there? He WOULD if the numbers barred out that he had an impact. If he was ding up Lebron, be sure he would play. They all bring more postives than negatives which is why they played. They are all two way players. Trez was at best a one way player when he was here, hell look at how badly he is playing in the bubble right now. This isnt the reason we havent won a championship. We've never had young prospects like Parker or Manu.
@LorneMalvo I checked the net ratings of that Warriors series btw, Nene did indeed have the highest net rating on our team. Mike should have played him more and Clint less. You are right about that. I still dont know if Nene would have "Dominated" with more minutes as the guy was 37 and could only play so much before getting completely cooked out there.
