Kobe is a lockdown defender when he wants to be. It's just that he only wants to be 10% of the time.

Oh, wait. Aren't they trying to play good defense? That was never anything Mike stressed. And the offense is well, performing a little better than LA last season.

D'Antoni is bitter beacause the best player on his active roster now is Xavier Henry.

Kobe should stop giving his you're loser let me teach you how to win championships to any prospective free agents from now on.

The biggest lie in NBA history. Kobe played lock down defense around 5% of the time and the media sux his dick for it. When in reality they gave him the easiest matchup on the court most of the time so he has energy scoring.

Mike D'Antoni is a sad sad man.

Just look at his outbursts during time outs and you will know what I mean.

Mike, I will be blunt here.

    It wasnt the system.

    It was you.

He is pretty much Melo on defense, with a lot more ESPN hype for him, while the media bashes Melo for playing 1/2 assed on D.

It's ridiculous how much the media influences what we think of players, they could literally turn anyone who get any meaningful minutes into a superstar if they highlight them just right.

No kidding. I've moved the goofus from my "simply not interested" column to the "this cat's a chump" one.

Absolutely true. I was appalled when people were on the D'Antonio bandwagon for coach here at CF. McHale was obviously the superior applicant. Mike is nothing but a hack. McHale is a man and rightfully demands respect around the league and should have respect from Rockets fans.

I'm quite sure the Lakers don't even "try" on defense. So this quote once again proves that Mike 'Antoni doesn't care about D.

Only guy on the roster that can play a lick of defense is Jordan Hill and he doesn't get any spin because he has no shot

There were chemistry issues abound on the Lakers. Kobe and Dwight denied it but they had friction...it was obvious. You can't have two people that different as the alpha males on the same team.

Jamison confirmed a few weeks ago that there were issues between Kobe and Dwight if I recall correctly.

    That's pretty much it

D'Antoni gave Dwight post-ups (something D'Antoni's always been allergic to) and benched Pau to try and keep him happy. In the end it was still Kobe's team
