Mike Conley is better than you think

I think this post hits the nail in the coffin.

You're talking about a top 3 player, a top 5 PG, a top 5 center, and a top 8 PF, and a top 5 perimeter defender.

OKC on the other hand, has a top 3 player, a top 5 PG, no starting quality center, and a PF that is at least less well-rounded than Randolph. And Allen is much better than Thabo as a defender.

And they were in the Finals last year.

 

I'm not a Rockets fan but you guys have an awfully good NBA board so that's why I participate (I joined many years ago just to discuss an upcoming Clipper/Rockets game). I think "what" is mostly a troll though.

 

top 5 center? i hope you mean all time. Gasol is on Hakeem's level.

Most sites are no good, especially small market ones. I'm a Pacers fan and the Pacers forum (while high quality) is some 20 times smaller than this one. If you want to keep talking about basketball during the offseason, or even non-Pacers topics during the season, you got to find a bigger site like this one.

 

I don't mind ragging on other Memphis players, but Marc Gasol is worth any accolade he gets. If what had made a thread that says Gasol is Dwight Howard's level, I wouldn't even blast him for that. Gasol is the one star(superstar?) on that Memphis team.

 

i'm not saying top 5 is unreasonable, i'm saying it's too reasonable

 

You could make an easy argument that Marc Gasol has been better than Dwight Howard this year.

 

Lionel Hollins is better than you think.

Hollins is the epitome of the underrated coach, he is almost like a foil to Popovich, Adelman and Thibodeau, in the same way the Jerry Sloan was a foil to Phil Jackson back in the day.

In another words, Hollins is good enough to be in the same class as Popovich, Adelman and Thibodeau.

 

Man I would love to beat Memphis in the first round to shut this what guy up.

 

I don't think of Mike Conley at all.

 

I already think Conley is pretty damn good. So if he's better than I think, that would make him a perennial All Star. But he's not, so you are wrong.

But he is nowhere near Westbrook, Parker or Paul. And such a statement (when considered with the previous Gay=KD comment) definitely makes you seem like a troll.

 

Conley is really solid pg. Definitely underrated. Memphis has two of the top 5 on ball defenders in the NBA

Mike Conley is a true point guard. He reminds me a lot of a Rondo meets Juwan Howard

 

I know Harden is injured but he is being too careless with the ball.
