You know, all these "Rockets are interested in so-and-so for a coach" articles, coupled with all these "So-and-so's For a Coach are interested in the Rockets" are secondhand stories. Could be the Rockets don't really want Brown and he puts out the news that he's not interested or taken himself out of the running. Helps him save face. Of course, if he actually didn't have any interest, that's fine, too. I trust (sort of) Morey not to bungle this coaching search, but we certainly don't have a LeBron to mask the foul stench of an NBA Coach of the Year who never deserved the honor.
He knows that he's not a real candidate to get the job, not that he doesn't want to coach the Rockets. IMO, this is great news.
Good news as far as I'm concerned! Casey would not be a bad selection IMO. I actually think he might do a good job. He is the guy responsible for a lot of the Mavs defensive sets, specifically when they go to the zone, that have turned the Mavs defense around. A job made easier with the addition of Tyson Chandler but he still had to cover up for Dirk, Jason Terry, JJ Berea, Roddy Boubaux (sp?) and an over the hill Jason Kidd (not the defender he once). I would just hope that he has not adopted that arrogant attitude that Rick has.
Here's how he gets another head coaching job: Working as an assistant and the head coach gets fired. He took himself out of the running because he knew the Rockets weren't going to hire him. It was a face-saving move.
Carl... why do you believe all that crap? First "Dick" Justice and now Bucher, who is wrong 90% of the time...
