Asking Sacremento to give up Bibby and Peja is too much. Especially with SAR already on the shelf they would be helpless.

Otherwise, from a Rockets standpoint, i'm all for it!

I read through a heated Bibby thread over at KingsFans.com and nearly every poster mentioned his weakness on defense. Quite a few others mentioned his inability to distribute the ball like a PG should, with one poster saying that they would be better off with Bibby as a SG rather than running the point. Several posters felt that in general, Bibby was the major reason why they are struggling this year.

Just thought I'd post the opinions of some fans who have watched Bibby closely this year.

I still like him and think he could help us out as a 3rd scorer, but I've got to think that some other team could offer Sactown a better deal than we can.

As much as I love Mike Bibby, I do not want to see the Rockets be involved in a trade where Luther Head is involved.

Sactown has a better record than we do. Maybe they're talking about getting McGrady for expiring contracts over there.

What do we have, really, that they would want? There are a lot of teams with good young talent that they could get to rebuild with. We have none of it unless you would include TMAC or YAO which would then be lopsided in their favor. Boston, Atlanta, Portland those are the kind of teams with good young players that SAC would want. Head might be of interest to them but what else? Just seems like other teams have much more of interest to a team looking to build for the future.

I think the idea would be to get expiring contracts. Not ones with multiple years and millions left on them.

If we can get Bibby without giving up Swift or Head (or the obvious other 2) it would be a STEAL!

    I'd gladly give up:

    Wesley (exp. contract)
    Moochie (exp. contract)
    Alston (starter)
    Howard (starter)
    Unprotected 1st

    for:

    Bibby
    KT (or Skinner)

    New Lineup:

    Yao/Deke
    Swift/KT or Skinner/Baxter
    T-Mac/Bowen/Davis
    Anderson/Head/Barry
    Bibby/Head/Lucas

    WOW!

Expiring contracts and multiple draft picks.

This trade would have more validity if a third team were involved. Trading Bibby means blowing it all up.

The king must be really hungry for them to eat that crap platter. And then throw a #1 in there? You must think highly of Skinner.

Maybe I missed it, but there was no mention of the Rockets that I saw.

Edit: Nevermind, I see that you were not really serious, but probably poking fun at the idea of getting Bibby for expiring contracts.

Is there any kind of reliable source for this rumor?

Not to my knowledge --- but that actually makes it plausible.

Would be nice but typically there are at least whispers of trades like these and aside from this board, I haven't heard squat

If anything, Bibby will be shipped to the EAST like Webber (I'm sure there are plenty of teams that can send expiring contracts just like the Rockets). The days of players going to different teams in the same conferance are nil

Unless those players are Baron Davis, Vince Carter, or Sam Cassell.
