Serious question as I don't know the answer. Do or should the states not have an independent board that is in charge of voting process and redrawing districts, etc? Where neither party has any influence in the matter whatsoever.
I honestly do not know much about redistricting. There is absolutely no reason they should be drawn for political purposes. However inherently it will always have a political motivation. A more important question for me is how often is it being done? If we are talking about a handful out of hundreds, I am not too concerned. Naturally if I was in a zone such as this, I would be much more concerned.
The current Texas districts were drawn by the courts. After the 2010 census, Texas was awarded something like 4 new seats. The districts were redrawn by the legislature and it was challenged in court. A three judge panel drew the districts for the 2012 election. Texas adopted the court drawn districts in 2013. This was again challenged in court and made it to the SCOTUS. Only one district was determined to need to be redrawn based on the SCOTUS ruling. My timeline may be off slightly but this is my recollection.

Washington was a Federalist while Madison and Jefferson were in opposition being Democratic-Republicans. Not to mention...FDR, Truman, JFK, LBJ, Obama...........
He came up with that fraudulent ass committee on voter fraud cause he lost the popular election and they found like 30 incidents of voter fraud in the last 10 years. Then they had to disband because he had alleged there were 3 million+ incidents. Real voter suppression is happening in Georgia, but this whole "illegals are rigging the vote! (which they aren't) is getting the attention again..
It means Republicans are smug arrogant dbags who think Dems aren't "real" Americans like they are, but rather are liberal, populist rabble.
Yes. The districts that get drawn by either side to maintain their majority gets ridiculous. These paint splatter districts make very little sense other than to the party in charge. That's not how it should be. It's not special to one party or the other. It should be independent and strictly based on population. I remember living in NE Austin and being represented by Mike McCaul in Cypress. I lived in Travis County and we were represented by a republican from Houston. How does that make sense?
I thought political cartoons were supposed to have some intelligence behind them? I mean, lol at anyone arguing that Washington was a liberal or conservative with modern-day standards.
attention to the dummy who claims that Trump doesn't work for us there was no political parties during Washington's time
