You get too caught up in your tribal team politics.

Leftist stated there was going to be massive changes after Trump won the election with a Republican congress. Nothing drastic has changed. Nor did it in the 8 years under Obama. Stop with the chicken little nonsense. We saw massive changes to the loss of privacy after 9/11, however that was a join effort by both shitty parties.

If everything Nate Silver predicts is true, this is a referendum on American politics. The moderate American, which represents well over half of America, recognizes both parties are just as shitty as the other. Its the die hard tribal team politics like yourself that allows the out of touch politicians to float to the top.

If Gillum wins Florida, leftist should take note on how to win elections. Take time to watch this debate. DeSantis is just a tribal team politician with no integrity or substance. Gillum actually gives a **** about people, regardless of party. Unlike Trump. Unlike Clinton. Unlike most people in congress. He doesnt see people who disagree with him as a 'basket of deplorables'. This is how Gillum will win in a state that is stacked against him.

    Your logic is broken.

Trump won 2016. He won an election based in insults and divisiveness.

Oh, that's right, the two parties are not carbon copies and do have different standards for whom they elect.

I still can't comprehend how relatively moderate individuals such as yourself to this day still see Hillary and Trump equally in terms of divisiveness.

    I must be missing something.

have you been living in a cave?

    • right off the bat, the unconstitutional EOs
    • Trump WH effort to un-do the sanctio ns against our foe, Russia, only to have Obama hold-overs (in the State Dept) alert the Congress, who proceeded to protect the sanction from being water-down by the Trump WH
    • the witch-hunt of FBI agent who are not Trump friendly
    • the WH implementing a policy to kidnap children of asylum seekers at the southern border
    • the trade war
    • the non-stop lying by the POTUS
    • the POTUS's address to the UNAG was laughed at by the UN audience
    • the POTUS's mocking of the Fed Chair for doing his job

Trump won in 2016 because after Obama beat Romney in 2012, the Dems decided to give the nod to Hillary without a fully open, legit nomination contest. This is why her main comp was just Bernie. An open contest where everyone was welcomed to join would have yielded one of two things: (1) Hillary would have been forced to truly compete instead of relying on "inevitability", would have found her groove, been battle tested and beaten Trump easily or more likely (2) a different candidate would have defeated her, emerged with momentum and purpose and would have beaten Trump.

In other words, Trump won because his opponent was the walking dead. This is the only way such a vile piece of corrupt racist trash could be elected president. The Dem incompetence was historic.

Hilldog could've won if Weiner didn't **** around with Huma's emails, which led Comey to send that letter to Congress a few days after Hillary won that debate.

It was the weirdest and most sinking feeling seeing that headline and thinking she's sunk.

Her campaign was a death of a thousand cuts. Comically sad with several what ifs, It should be on TV in a few decades if we're lucky to still have those.

    that is just ridiculous.

Hillary has demonstrated, repeatedly, to be a lousy national campaigner, it is in her DNA.
if only she was just merely average, she would have been the POTUS instead of Obama
history repeats itself; Hillary's incompetent campaign skills lost the 2008 election; the same for the 2016 election. she never learns

If she had just hired a freaking voice coach when she hit middle age, she'd be POTUS right now, for better or worse. But agree on her campaigning DNA.

I know. Just a stark reality that Democrats could very well not win back the house under some very reasonable potential outcomes. Should light a fire under the arses of Dems.

The democrats will win back the House.

The republicans will keep the Senate and pick up 2 more seats to give them a 53-47 majority going into 2020.

2020 will be hard for the democrats to retake the Senate if the current political environment remains. However if Trump has legal problems, there is a chance that the democrats wind up controlling all elected levels of the federal government.... if the democrats take the Senate in 2020, they are guaranteed to take the White House but I put that at roughly a 25% chance of happening.

Democrats narrowly taking the House could be the worst thing for Democrats really because we know obstructionism is coming, and if the economy slows down, they'll catch all the blame for it. Trump will argue that everything was going well until they got in the way and that could be enough to win him another term with gains in the Senate and House in 2020.

While I agree to a point, It would be worse for them if the economy did not slow down.

It's the other way around. 2020 for the Dems depends on who they nominate for president. Everything else depends on that.

I think it depends on the how well the country is doing and if Trump has been able to avoid any fatal scandals. 70% of incumbents are reelected and the number is extremely high if the nation is economically optimistic.

I disagree, if things don't slow down with Democrats doing all they can to obstruct everything while using their majority in the House it'll be good for the Democrats. It'll show that their nonsense isn't hurting the country.

I'm going to bookmark this post. Why? If we ever have a thread about the most ignorant, outrageously stupid posts made in this forum in recent history, I'm going to offer your post as a contender. It's deserving of the "award" for the "most brutally dumb and uneducated post" ever made in D&D. Breathtakingly stupid is simply an understatement. With all respect due.

I think the fake news about the immigration caravan is going to help Republican turnout a lot. Voter Id laws also are helping a great deal especially where they are preventing people from registering or moving polling stations far away from liberal strongholds.

That's why I truly think we're past the point of no return. Trump has congress and the supreme court now in his pocket and will eventually make a move towards authoritarian power.

    Wow thanks.

I guess we all wasted our time pouring through any number of 2016 analyses put together by professional researchers relying on empirical data when this 3 paragraph master class was there all along.
