This is nothing to Rove. That slimy b*stard's services will always be in demand. It'll likely happen when the teabaggers panic at the hint of lost momentum.

Look at Newt. His party revolted against him and now he's some established Republican commentator with a manufactured frontrunner title, let alone the crazy hypocritical bs he's been spewing.

What is really hysterical for me (I know, it's hard to choose with Rush, he's such a loon!), is that I remember hearing Limbaugh on my car radio sucking up to Rove, big time, in a live "interview" on his show. How the worm has turned.

Give the republicans some credit, they sure know how to keep em' in line. That's why they're so effective at passing ****ty laws.

And yet it's a race that wouldn't be close had the Repubs nominated someone partially sane.

Democrats might just pick up a senate seat in AK --

    The Iditarod Of Senate Campaigns

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) announces her write-in campaign to win re-election despite losing the Republican Party nomination to Joe Miller.

RNC Chairman Michael Steele reiterates the party's support for Miller:

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell announces that Murkowski is no longer welcome in the Senate Republican leadership, and he accepted her resignation as Republican Conference Secretary. Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), who chairs the National Republican Senatorial Committee, recommits to supporting Miller and describes himself as "deeply disappointed" with Murkowski's decision.

Sadly, the one poll of a 3-way race shows the Dem in a distant third. I think the only way Dems pick this seat up is if she pulls a Crist and moves to the middle, collects Democratic votes, manages to win a write-in campaign, and caucuses with Dems. But I don't think she's likely to do any of those things, let alone all of them.

Well it sounds like she's burned her bridge with republicans so we can only hope she wins the write in and caucuses with Dems

It would really help the Dems if Meek and whoever the Alaska Dem is would drop out of their races. They've got to know - especially in Meek's case - that they can't win. If they truly believe in the Democratic Party's values and agenda, it seems like they'd want the Dems to get the seat. They best way to do that is to simply drop out and help Crist / Murkowski win.

yes he does. although I agree that the tea party movement isn't much different from the last thirty years of republican agenda, I don't agree that it is the background of these people that the elite republicans are uncomfortable with.

the establishment of the republican party used the culture war to build a voter base. but the establishment of the republican party cares about one thing, cutting rich people's taxes.

the people who have been used by the republicans for the last thirty years are now finally breaking out in the tea party. they are gonna push the agenda that they thought the establishment was pushing.

edit: also, I remember arguing with a poster at least five years ago that part of the hate against Clinton was his self made background from lower middle class family

Write-in campaigns at this level rarely work. Sure, it's Alaska, the Bizarro World of the North and The Land of Ms. Palin the Goofus, but far too many voters may as well be rejected extras from The Stepford Wives, automatons who march up to the voting booth and "pull the lever" for one party of another, if they don't skip both. Take the trouble to write someone in? Are you serious?? ;)

I wouldn't count on that seat, although I'd do cartwheels if it happened.

I don't really see it as a possible pick up. But it’s fun watching the GOP cannibalize themselves.
