    We have the upper hand on anyone outside of Toronto I think. Being at his doorstep at midnight is huge IMO

    I'm on the same boat buddy. Let Lebron stay in Miami and Melo go to Chicago.



    Get Love instead who can be our stretch 4 and 3rd star.

    Without Melo or Lebron, we keep our home grown Parsons as our starting SF (would hate to see him leave)

    3rd, bring back Lowry


    ….And if all of those things don't happen together, then yeah, I'd be down for Melo or Lebron lol

    When you think about it, Morey did the most intelligent thing by making Lowry his first visit. Bosh is waiting for Bron. Bron is MIA. He can't talk to Love. And Melo is headed to Chi-town; we get him Tuesday.

    Where else was Morey gonna go? Who else was he gonna visit?

    Makes perfect sense. Lowry is my #4 behind Bron, Melo, and Love.

    A team of Lowry, Harden, Parsons, Jones, Howard is a very strong lineup.

    Jones has a lot of potential

    That Lowry agreed to see us first seems to imply that there have already been behind the scenes talks already. Since his contract will likely be ~$8mil less than LeBron/Melo, its also likely part of a bigger deal. I'm hoping Love, but it may also be someone else like Ariza or Gasol.

    Lowry was my favorite player on the Rockets years ago. That'd be a huge pickup.

    Reports from cyberx and the sports reporters talk about Lowry being a "4th option" behind several others. But I wouldn't be surprised if Lowry is not only viewed as the first option, but also a key acquisition that could lead to several other scenarios where HOU lands another big $ star.

    Landing Lowry, especially if via a sign and trade, would leave the Rockets the salary flexibility to go after another big $ player. Moreover, landing Lowry can make HOU more attractive a destination to these other big $ free agents

    I don't think there is a scenario where we add Lowry via sign and trade and sign Carmelo with cap space that doesn't include Chandler Parsons being traded.

    I think this scenario is very unlikely.

    If we are adding Lowry AND a star, it's probably going to have to be Love.

    You would need to sign Lowry with capspace and then trade for Love with Lin being part of that deal (whether he went to Minnesota or somewhere else.)

    If we are able to sign Lowry what can we can do with the excess cap space to acquire another desirable trade asset for Love? An asset that when combined with Jones, NOP 1st, and Capela, etc. would be enough to allow us to exclude Parsons.

    I would imagine we could have as much as $5m to play with.

    Actually, we need salary (expirings) to even be able to trade for Love. Would signing Lowry fit under the cap with us not trading Lin? That way we still have salary for a Love trade (without including Parsons).

    Asik + Jones + Casspi is enough salary to trade for Love. Remember the New Orleans deal isn't completed and can fold into a bigger three team deal after July 10.

    I think so. That's the way I see Morey having it laid out so far. The Asik trade gave him enough room to sign (or at least threaten to sign) Lowry outright. That puts the pressure on Toronto to get at least something in return. It then puts the Rockets in the drivers seat to decide which course gives them the most flexibility to add another player before finally matching any Parsons offers.

    Much like when LeBron was ready to leave Cleveland and they said pretty unequivocally that they would not facilitate his departure with a SNT, when push came to shove, they did just that because it was in the team's best interest.
