The players do have the upper hand, for now. They're still gonna be making some cash. Things will change when their families hate Europe, China, Russia, wherever. See Iverson, Allen.

Why couldn't they start in January and finish in Late August? It would be great if basketball could carry us through the beginning of the NFL season. Traditions are meant to be broken, maybe it even helps revenue playing through the summer.

Will they automatically renew the league pass broadband even though there is currently a lockout? How to cancel the subscription?

Probably, but it's not like it will make a difference. Speaking for broadband & especially mobile, it's rare to actually watch an entire game. It's always either way too laggy or just doesn't work at all. But I'm a sucker because I buy it every season, hoping it will be better than last.

If they automatically renew it, will we get a pro-rated price if the lockout continues? If I expect the NBA to lose half season to lockout, should I cancel the NBA league pass subscription now and purchase it when the NBA season starts?

It's probably the safest bet to cancel now & purchase when the season starts. However, they've given me a refund before when I complained about quality of service, so maybe they'd do the same if you don't get a full season (or at least a pro-rated refund).

NBALPBB works nearly perfect for me. I believe it depends on your internet connection.

In the NBA League Pass Broadband subscriber agreement, it says "All subscriptions, with the exception of Day Pass subscriptions will automatically renew for the following NBA season unless your election to discontinue your subscription is received by Us by October 1st immediately preceding that NBA season."

I don't see the nba players (or the nba mind you) agreeing to having the playoffs run through the olympics...

Lawyers, staff for #NBA and @TheNBPA met at union offices in
Harlem today. Big boys scheduled to meet tomorrow at Manhattan hotel.

As previously reported, it'll be Stern, Silver, Holt, Rube for league and Hunter, Fisher, Klempner and economist Murphy for union.

Lets hope they settle this nonsense and the season gets started on time.
