Hey, they got Tmac in that trade to put with K. Martin. That's not raping them for sure, unless you currently thing Tmac is trash; which I don't. Ricky can be a cancer for us to hopefully kill off some of these already dead cells that we have. We have to stop trying only to get model citizens like Shane, and get people that can put the ball in the hoop if we want to win now...and think "IT'S TIME!" We can start Steve if you don't want to start AB, or House if it suits you better. I say give the rookie his shot, we can always change later. Sam did great for us his rookie year. I don't think we win the championship without him that year, even though he didn't start, he was like a starter. Miami is trying to do anything to get rid of J. Williams this year. They have a young center from Memphis that they are hoping on that just got back from injury. They would still have Smush and Cook, but they would be in a better position to get a point guard later. But I do agree that they get the worst deal. Who cares, I'm a Rockets fan! I still think they do it right now to shake up their team and give them another chance to revive themselves.
HOUSTON ROCKETS PG: Rafer Alston SG: Tracy McGrady SF: Shane Battier PF: Louis Scola CN: Yao Ming 6: Steve Francis 7: Bonzi Wells 8: Ricky Davis 9: Chuck Hayes 10: Aaron Brooks 11: Dikembe Mutombo 12: Steve Novak 13: Alonzo Mourning Outgoing: Mike James, Kirk Snyder, Luther Head, Carl Landry Incoming: Ricky Davis, Alonzo Mourning Reason: (1) Salary dump; (2) Insurance for McGrady's injuries; (3) Potent scoring off the bench to help kickstart a slowing offense; and (4) Brooks to get more minutes with James and Head out of the rotation. MIAMI HEAT PG: Jason Williams SG: Dwyane Wade SF: Dorrell Wright PF: Udonis Haslem CN: Shaquille O'Neal 6: Mike James 7: Mark Blount 8: Damon Jones 9: Luke Jackson 10: Carl Landry 11: Kirk Snyder 12: Daequan Cook 13: Alexander Johnson Outgoing: Ricky Davis, Smush Parker, Alonzo Mourning Incoming: Mike James, Damon Jones, Kirk Snyder, Carl Landry Reason: (1) Ricky Davis lack-luster outside shooting makes him a bad fit in Riley's system; (2) Parker is not getting along with his coach; (3) Zo's tendon tear should side-line him for the rest of the season, if not for the rest of his career; and (4) Riley's system needs shooters like Mike James and Damon Jones. CLEVELAND PG: Daniel Gibson SG: Larry Hughes SF: LeBron James PF: Drew Gooden CN: Zydrunas Ilgauskas 6: Sasha Pavlovic 7: Anderson Varejao 8: Smush Parker 9: Luther Head 10: Donyell Marshall 11: Eric Snow 12: Ira Newble 13: Shannon Brown Outgoing: Damon Jones Incoming: Smush Parker, Luther Head Reason: (1) Damon Jones is not happy with his role; (2) Luther Head gives the Cavs the outside shooting they sorely need while Parker is a big, defensive PG to patch up the Cavs shoddy back-court defense.
Can I play too? To Chicago: Tracy McGrady Aaron Brooks To Houston: Ben Gordon Kirk Hinrich Tyrus Thomas Viktor Khryapa I don't know what a Khryapa is - I just threw it in to make the numbers work on ESPN's trade machine. PG: Hinrich / Alston / James SG: Gordon / Head / Francis SF: Battier / Wells / Snyder / Novak PF: Thomas / Scola / Hayes / Landry C: Yao / Mutumbo That's 16 people, so you'd probably end up releasing Steve. My theory, you're buying low on Hinrich and Gordon, and Thomas could be the perfect compliment to Yao (picture Stromile Swift with a motor). Hinrich is an instant (though not large) upgrade at PG and Gordon can replace most of T-Mac's scoring (if nothing else). Chicago wouldn't do this trade last year, but this year, they need to shake things up as much as we do.
Ive got an idea. It would be a poposterous and blockbuster trade if it actually goes through http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...~29~29~29~10~4~10~4~4~29~29~29~4~29&te=&cash= Why does houston do it? - We need balance in our offense badly. We trade away tmac and battier and lots of expiring contracts for deng (also expiring) and gordon (exp) and miller. THese three can more than handle the scoring vacuum left by Tmac. THey will help space the floor and allow for yao to dominate inside. We take up the contract of wallace because that makes the trade work and he can help yao rebound/defend/sub when he needs a rest. Why does memphis do it? - They suck. They want movable contracts so they can rebuild. They want youth. They have no need for the large contract of gasol and miller. We could throw in picks if they want them. Wtv Whey does chicago do it? - This would be the biggest Question mark considering Chicago's attitude about trading Deng. HOwever, they are just sucking terribly and I think that they would bite on the chance to jump from celler dweller to Eastern powerhouse. With a lineup of say, Duhon, Tmac, Batt, Smith, and Gasol, they can easily be a top 4 team in the east. Thier depth... well thats their problem isn't it Oh, and they also get rid of Wallace and his terrible contract.
But the thing is, it only SEEMS that Chicago is getting the bigger piece of the pie; although they get some big names, we get an immense boost in scoring balance. We could run: 1: Gordon/Rafer/Brooks 2: Miller/Bonzi/Gordon 3: Deng/Bonzi/Miller 4: Scola/Wallace/Hayes 5: Yao/Wallace/Deke How sexy is that lineup? Who the hell are you going to use to double Yao? If Gordon can't run an offense, we could easily bring in Rafer and use Gordon as a spark off the bench. We'd be raining threes and midrange jumpers all over the opposition while Yao destroys them inside. Also, Gordon, Miller, Deng, and Bonzi are all athletic slashers who can get inside and draw fouls. Dont forget we'd also have Wallace and his defense if Yao needs a breather. With this versatile lineup, we could go big, we could go small, heck, we could go all the way... And yes in this scenario, Memphis would have to cut lots and lots of people, but im sure they could package some people and get another trade (like a 3 for 1 maybe?) with another team to reduce the player glut they'll have. Its better to have lots of pieces than no pieces at all, eh?
About as realistic as it gets... http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...=77~2011~255~2445&teams=10~10~20~20&te=&cash= Philadelphia has a huge dip in salary next year, coming in at just 39 million with 10 players under contract. That means they after they sign next year's rookies (and considering a rise in the league cap), they'll have roughly 20 million for the final 3 roster spots. The move above gives the Sixers 25 million in cap space, allowing them to potentially land 2 star players, or a superstar in free agency. It puts the Sixers in great position to turn things around quickly while grooming Iguodala and getting a good couple of years out of Andre Miller. Korver is a good player, but the potential of cutting an extra $5 million from the cap by moving him has to be pretty attractive, as they could be in bidding wars with Charlotte and Atlanta, two teams with low salary totals next year (35 and 39 mil respectively). I shouldn't have to explain why this is good for the Rockets, but I will anyway. Korver can flat out shoot the 3 at a ridiculous rate. Despite being down this year (yet still at 35%), his career 3pt % of .409 tells you all you need to know. He's got a quick release, he's young, he's 6-6, and he can hit shots on the move (picks, hand-offs). A perfect fit for finishing plays in a Princeton-esque offense. Not a good defender, but we wouldn't be trading away defense to get him anyway. Calvin Booth is expiring and is simply a big body for front court depth. All the Rockets lose are two inconsistent borderline rotation guys who are expiring anyway.
What would it take for the rockets to some how aquire Sam Cassell from the Clippers? Even at his age he's still dangerous with all his playoff experience and his attitude or swagger could be contagous for the rockets.
Tmac, battier, head, 1st round pick to kings for Artest, Martin, john salmons lineup would be: brooks martin bonzi artest yao bench: rafer, mike james, salmons, scola, steve sign hayes when he can shoot the right way let deke become a doctor at his new hospital let novak move into the weight room Result: quick, high% shots, dominant big man, great defender, 3s
if we could somehow pull off this trade i'd be the happiest person in the world tmac and alston for redd and mo williams pg mo williams sg michael redd sf shane battier pf luis scola c yao ming bench head wells james steve chuck brooks etc. who agrees and do you think that it could be possible?
to post 151. No thanks, i rather keep shooting crazy Tmac then to have 2 shooting crazy players in redd and willams. Jermain o'neil anyone? His playing bad this season, 16 points, 7.5 boards and 2 blocks. The lowest across the board for 8 years. He might be on the trading board. Battier, rafer, james and hayes for him. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...~976~2834~1051&teams=10~11~11~11~11&te=&cash= they only have 1 backup PG, while tinsley is a player that is injury prone.
Tmac, Rafer and Mike James and 1st round pick for Jason Kidd and Richard Jefferson Jason/Brooks Richard/Luther Battier/Snyder Scola/Hayes/Landry Yao/Scola/Deke
The Realgm.com trade checker works for the Jason Kidd and Richard Jefferson for Rafer, Mike James, and Tmac. Basically a break even trade statiscally and gets Tmac with his cousin Vince. Plus this gives New Jersey some high scoring for the move to Brooklyn. We also address their point guard needs with a combination of Rafer and Mike James
I would love this to happen. I would buy season tickets...I promise I would. I dont know how I would afford it...but I would do it.
The trade is basically Mike James, Rafer and 1st Rounder for Richard Jefferson. I would include Battier for Mike James just to get Richard Jeffersion
Korver's performing for them. I've read they're trying to move Evans's contract. So maybe to get Korver they'll have to take on Evans as well? Evans is similiar to Hayes but is a better rebounder. James+Snyder+Hayes for Korver+Evans
it's time... to blow this muth@ up head and novak for pietrus or barnes mike james and carl landry for sam cassell pg cassell, brooks sg t-mac, bonzi sf shane, pietrus/barnes pf scola, hayes c yao, deke it's fu--ing time for something... i'm so frustrated
You know Jefferson is averaging 25ppg, right? Trading him for anyone not named Kobe is not likely to increase scoring.
