I wouldn't trade T-Mac, because you can't get equal value. Only way I would trade Tracy is for Kobe straight up. I would trade Shane Battier for Corey Maggette straight up in a heartbeat. This would solve the 3rd scorer problem and some athleticism. Also, work some kind of deal to add somebody that can hit open shots from the perimeter. I doubt that the Raptors would deal Kapono since they just signed him to a long term deal for the full MLE I believe in the offseason. Two players the Rockets could realistically acquire in my view are Kyle Korver or Jamal Crawford. They both would fill this glaring need and I would take Crawford over Korver. Neither are very athletic and Korver is a better shooter, but Crawford has more of a multi-faceted game. He can play either guard spot, he's a good ball handler, good shooter, can hit big shots, and can drive to the hole if need be. Korver is just too one-dimensional for my taste. I would be willing to deal any combination of Luther Head, Aaron Brooks, Kirk Snyder, Rafer Alston, and/or draft picks to get this type of deal done. Add a 3rd scorer and a good outside shooter then we can start talking about "winning now" and "it's time." If we hadn't traded Rudy Gay, the Rockets would have the 3rd scorer they lack and would only be one relatively easily attainable piece away from title contention. The Rudy Gay trade screwed this team.
Why do you think Tracy is not overrated? I saw a thread in RealGM, "who is the most overrated player?" Tracy is clearly top 3. If you think he is so good, why he never pass first round. I am not going to say he is a loser. but he is overrated.
Wouldn't mind trading with the Bulls. Deng, Gordon, Nocioni, Duhon, etc would be great on our team. WE may need to give up T-Mac. I love the guy, but man, these injuries with him suck. And I'm starting to lost faith in the Yao/T-Mac Combo. Plus, T-Mac is a half court type of player and the run and gun style Adelman was brought here for will not work with Tracy here. Those baby bulls would flourish here, especially when you got the Great Wall over here.
I do too, but the Sixers are in all-out rebuild mode, so I don't think they'd be interested without him.
No. I'm tired of trading players on their way up for players on their way down. I was upset with the Brooks choice, but now that he is here I believe we should keep and use him. As I said earlier, we just need to acquire a young scorer like Gerald Green or Josh Smith (Green will come fairly cheap but Smith will be costly -- probably T-Mc in a sign & trade + some young Hawk and/or pick. Envision, if you will, Brooks / Green / T-Mc / Scola and Yao with Bonzi, Deke and Shane backing them up. All we need is an athletic big man to replace Deke the following year.
If Josh Smith were available, that'd be a different story. Gerald Green has a bad case of all-hype, no-skill. He has shown no signs in 3 years that he belongs in the NBA. Aaron Brooks was a shot-in-the-dark pick who may or may not ever prove to be valuable in the NBA. Your line-up is just hoping to catch fire in a bottle with two marginal prospects.
Green was doing well in Boston, but went flat in the frigid air of Minnesota. The kid has all the tools -- and he's a month shy of being 22. Of course, we wouldn't need an athletic 6-8 kid like Green had Morey not traded away Rudy Gay for glue.

I like a good random trade thread as much as the next guy, but c'mon. David Lee makes less than a million dollars, but that doesn't mean you can throw him into a trade as a contract matcher. He's worth far more than his salary, and therefore is almost untradeable unless it's for another guy who is worth way more than his contract (aka "nobody on this team"). So at least try and keep them somewhat realistic...you know, pretty much the opposite of that PHO/IND/HOU/CHA 19 player deal.
Why would Memphis want Shane back? However, for Miller I'd toss in a second rounder, maybe even a Top 20 protected first rounder.
as much as i hate kobe..... Yao for Kobe and getting JO for Battier, james and alston/francis would make the team a contender... Brooks Kobe T-Mac Hayes JO Bench Bonzi Scola I think even just doing the JO trade and keeping yao would make the team better, question is does indiana do this??
Yao for Kobe is obviously not going to happen. And I don't think it's worth it to give up Alston and Battier plus one of our other guards for Jermaine O'neal. I think we lose more than we gain there, considering the rest of the pieces on our roster.
