why the hell do people want Artest? then we'll just have 2 players out of the 5 and the coach from sacramento kings who got wiped out by Spurs in the first round a couple of years back.
i really hope the organization is not as dumb as it's fans and makes a trade this early. however, if there was a trade, i think the only way to really help the rockets would be to get a great point guard. kidd or bibby would do wonders for this team, and without tracy, we would definitely need someone who can control the game and setup plays for everybody else. Just look forward to out "role-players" not improving however, since without mcgrady, the defense will be spread out able to cover more players. What Houston needs to do, is start creating a formula around the rest of the team with tracy and yao being the base. they need to come up with a play that can either get tmac or yao a shot with only one defender, or the other result being a play for a wide-open teammate who makes them pay for it every time. oh wait, yao and tracy are already doing their parts???? then why are you guys all wanting to trade tracy?
I posted this somewhere else but: McGrady for Andre Miller and Iguodala of the Sixers, plus other contracts to make it work. I think it's pretty fair, actually. The Sixers get a legitimate top star who'll draw in the fans. We get two second-tier stars with flaws but who'll help us in positions of need. But I can see why it wouldn't work either. McGrady has a massive contract and getting him wouldn't guarantee the Sixers become a playoff team. So unless they have a few other trades in mind, they might just end up being a Magic era McGrady team.
I've heard so many rumors about T-Mac. But, the truth is he won't leave this rockets team untill the end of this season for sure.
houston don't need to trade tmac. it'd be the stupidest move in franchise history. if they even consider a trade, which is much too early for, they should trade some of these "role-players" who are not able to do squat even when yao/tracy get them the ball with no defender on them... but you guys think we should take away one of the only aspects in our team that IS working. you guys amaze me.....
*it really sucks that we cannot edit any of our posts* i also want to throw in, that no matter what, there are players that we should NOT consider to trade and then there are others who we may consider. players who should NOT be considered at all: Yao Tracy Francis Bonzi Battier these are elite players. while francis may be struggling a bit, he is very talented, and he has an ability to raise his game to very high styles. If Yao and Mac get to a point where they are dominating, throwing stevie in there will be adding to it. When the pace of the game is high, and the team seems to be doing good, thowing stevie in there will make them explode. however, the recent stvie games, were all when the rest of the team was pretty much dead. not his fault to the least bit. players i would consider trading for: Head James Snyder Hayes Brooks (if only in deal to get kidd, bibby etc) Novak (trade him for a good towel boy who tosses towels more to their liking) *cant finish this up, gotta go... btw: just heard, sounds like AB should be getting some opportunities tonight. Should be entertaining.*

BTW: In reality our most salient trade bait is Shane Battier. I'd take almost any athletic SF with a motor and a half-way decent shot in exchange.
[QUOTE=NO N Luol Deng already has a bad back; Ben Wallace is too old to be effective for significant minutes; and Tyrus Thomas, like Wallace, is only good for putbacks although both are worlds better than Hayes. In short, we can do a lot better for McGrady and Snyder.
Your value for Ricky Davis is way too high. You think the Rockets would even consider giving up Battier for Davis straight up? Davis has a horrible attitude and a mediocre game. No way in the world the Rox do this. Seriously, Ricky Davis? Then you also think the Kings would give up Artest and a first round pick for Battier. I dont think they do Artest for Battier straight up, much less throw in any pick, especially a first rounder. Also, if we are giving up Tmac, there is no way we want a big man in return. Who would create any offense from the perimeter with Yao and Jermaine on this team. A much better option would be something like Tmac and Alston for Deng, Heinrich and a first rounder, and no not because they are playing the Bulls tonight. Heinrich is struggling this year but you hope he gets his shot back and at least he can defend the PG position. Deng is long and has a nice midrange shot and doesnt dominate the ball which makes sure Yao gets his touches. Rox end up with Yao, Hayes, Deng, Battier, Heinrich (Scola, Head, Brooks, Wells, James, Francis) Bulls end up with Alston, Gordon, Tmac, Smith, Wallace (Nocioni, Duhon, Thomas, Sefolosha)
No way Bulls let go of Deng or Hinrich. Maybe Tracy + Shane + Random ppl for Gordon + Nocioni + Tyrus Thomas + fillers? Or Tracy for Caron Butler? Or Tracy for Drew Gooden + Larry Hughes? Or Tracy to New York for Jamaal Crawford? ...
Are you serious. You think Tracy has fallen to the point that it would be okay to trade him for Jamaal Crawford? Thank God you are not the Rox GM.
With Skiles being fired in Chicago, perhaps they'll look to Jeff Van Gundy to fill the position. JVG has said he'd be interested if a job opened up, and we know he would like a team with a defensive-minded roster. If he were hired there, I could see them pulling the trigger on a TMac deal seeing as how they apparently got along here so well and JVG seemed to get the most of out McGrady. Nothing but praise and respect from both sides. Throw Shane Battier in there and JVG is salivating at the defensive potential. Chris Duhon is a very Charlie Ward like PG, which JVG apparently likes. Very unlikely, but Skiles firing makes it interesting.
Tmac+James+Novak+Hayes for Gordon+Henrich+Noci+Wallace Wallace is a deadweight, but I think us taking on Wallace's salary is the only we can get it done. But it probably aint that bad. Wallace plays well if he doesnt have to be a threat and just roam around. Him playing alongside with Yao will hide most of his weakness, so he could be effective. With Wallace, we can trade away our poor man's version of him in Hayes. A line up with Henrich Gordon Battier Wallace Yao is not a contender by any strech of imagination. But nonethelss, more look like kinda team that Adelman can work with. With Brooks, Head, Landry on the pine and a draft or two in the coming year, this could be a good team.
Here's a thought -- not a great one but fun to speculate about: Yao Ming for Yi Jilian, Michael Redd and their unprotected #1 for the coming draft. Les doesn't lose his China connection and we get an athletic big man, a shooter and a draft choice for Moneyball to waste. Milwaukee pairs Yao and Bogut with Villanueva filling the triumvirate -- a power combo for the East.
Bad trade for the Bucks, why would they want 2 slow centers on the same team? Bucks trade away Yi, Redd and the #1 pick? Yao doesn't have that kind of value.
If JVG becomes the Chicago coach, offer them Shane Battier, Luther Head and Chuck Hayes for Joe Smith, Thabo Sefalosha and JamesOn Curry. JVG gets his favorites and we get more athletic with a talented big who would play off Yao very well.
