This might work and seems to make sense. Carl Landry 6-8 PF from Purdue 2.0 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 0.7 apg in 5.7 minutes Rafer Alston 6-2 PG from Frenso State 10.1 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 5.0 apg in 31.6 minutes Tracy McGrady 6-8 SG / SF from Mount Zion Christian Academy (HS) 22.8 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 5.1 apg in 35.2 minutes for Francisco Garcia 6-7 SG / SF from Louisville 13.2 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.6 apg in 27.1 minutes Shareef Abdur-Rahim 6-9 PF from California 1.7 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 0.7 apg in 8.4 minutes Mike Bibby 6-2 PG from Arizona No games yet played in 2007/08 We get a real point guard and a promising G-SF as well as a backup PF who once was a solid player. The Kings get T-Mc and a backup PG and backup PF while ridding themselves of a contract (Shareef) they no longer seem to want.
I wish we could get Michael Redd and Yi from the bucks for McGrady and some change. I think it would be way easier on Yao if some of our perimeter players could actually hit wide open threes. Both of those guys can probably slash and shoot the three better than Tmac at this point.
I think this trade looks awful for the Rox. Tmac is a top 10-15 talent and Bibby is nowhere close to that. Rafer isn't great, but his value to the Rox is probably greater than we'd get from Garcia. Landry has potential whereas Shareef is on a major downside. This trade makes no sense. To get Tmac, a team needs to give us a top 20 player or a few really good players. This won't get it done IMHO.
Trade Yao Ming and Mike James + first round pick to the Clippers for Brand and Kaman. Kaman gives you 80 -90 % of what Yao gives and Brand is a force of nature on his own. Salaries work out... Rockets are instantly a better team... Sterling would do the trade since Yao is a cash cow.. thoughts?
Les is a business man. Just like you said, Yao is a cash cow, he would trade away the whole team before trading Yao, that's the reality.
James, Hayes, & Landry for Jeff Foster & Ike Diogu Diogu's been mostly injured. Foster's started half of the games so far this season. In their last ten or so games has played off the bench with Troy Murphy starting instead. Pacers were looking for a two even though Dunleavy's been good for them and they get a solid starter in Hayes.
you think so? then explain me why Clippers has been sucked with Brand, Kaman and Maggette playing not much worse than Tmac.
First of all, the Clippers didn't suck with Kaman, Brand and Maggette. They advanced into the conference semifinals 2 years ago with this core. Kaman regressed last year but has really picked it up this year. Hes actually outperforming Yao. I realize that his numbers are up b/c Brand has been out and hes been the go to man. I just hope that he keeps playing this aggressive when Brand comes back. Brand is a guaranteed 20/10 everynight. Him and Kaman easily compensate for any offense Yao would give us. The Tmac/Maggette comparison is just ludicrous. You're comparing a top 5-10 talent player with a guy who might not rank in the top 50. Maggette can score and get take it to the rim. Hes a blackhole when it comes to passing and doesn't make anyone around him better. With Tmac/Brand and Kaman we would have the trio we need. Scola would play 20 minutes a game off the bench and Hayes would be used in spot minutes (or for defensive purposes). We'd easily be a 50 -55 win team with this lineup. Of course we could win that many games with Yao but if we're gonna blow it up.... we'd get a lot more value for Yao then Tmac - and thats the truth.
Three Team Trade between Houston/Chicago/Detroit: Ben Gordon (w/ extended contract), Chauncy Billups, Chicago's 1st Round Pick, and filter from Detroit to Houston Tmac, Luther, Alston and Houston's 1st round to Chicago Ben Wallace, Kirk Hinrich, Mike James, and Houston's 2nd Round Pick to Detroit **This trade might need more filters to make it work money wise.
why would detroit trade Mr. Big shot for a hasbeen shotblocker with a bad contract? Joe Dumars is probably laughing his a%% off at Chicago right now
I agree, with the current record Detroit is having, it doesn't make much sense for them to give up Billups. But, there are always other reasons for a trade to go through, we just have to wait for the right opportunity..
To Memphis: Tracy McGrady Bonzi Wells 1st Round Pick In Exchange for: Rudy Gay Pau Gasol Andre Brown or cash
How about we ship T-Mac to New York for Eddy Curry , David Lee , Nate Robinson, and Jamel Crawford salaries do match up. And for any sceptics about scoring loss. We ship Mike James and Luther Head to L.A. Clippers for Corey Maggette..
This trade would be very interesting. Only couple of problems: 1) We aren't getting enough return: Jeff is a good player and Kidd is a great player with only 2-4 more years left in him. 2) Tmac is still a STAR when he players the WHEN is a big problem, but Mike James can play well and Battier is a defender that we need. We need at least one more player, I think if you get a defender that would be a perfect trade for us. We would have only 2-4 years while Kidd is playing to win a Championship but its not a bad window. Maybe since Nets don't seem to want Sean Williams add him I think he would fit well as a backup 4 for Scola
Williams is improving at a remarkable rate and will be formidable in a year or two. Losing T-Mc and adding Sean Williams would push Scola to SF and Jefferson to SG. Now that would be a powerful lineup: Kidd / Jefferson / Scola / Williams / Yao
Yes, I am. Scola is not fast, but he is quick. He has range, and Scola can take his defender inside the paint to his advantage. On defense Scola plays all the way out to the arc anyway. If Shane can play SF, Scola definitely can.
Scola doesn't have range past about 18 feet, so he'd provide no spacing whatsoever. And he isn't quick enough to defend on the perimeter or chase after smaller players off the ball. In a league that's getting smaller and quicker, I don't think it makes sense to use Scola at SF. Is there a player in the league who plays even remotely like him and gets minutes at SF?
Answer: Houston Rockets .... Shane Battier. He's even slower than Scola and doesn't have the offensive weapons.
