If anyone hit a nerve, it was me. My post was in no way inflammatory. I was referring to your last sentence that makes an assumption that women only like nice kitchens or whatever because they're trophies. That's just a broad over-generalization. But I apologize profusely for making an innocent comment on an internet message board and ruining both of your days.
i said most women, meaning it excludes some women. never would of figured a statement about women and kitchens would upset a guy. and i fully accept your insincere apology.
With respect to thinking like an economist, upgrading the kitchen is generally regarded as the number one thing that increases the value of a home.
Just treat it like another purse. You don't **** with a woman's purse decisions... Thanks for the contribution broseph. Friday ruined now. Passive aggressive, not so passive.
property values are, for the most part, at the mercy of the market. the cost of upgrades/renovations are hardly recouped 100% when it comes time to sell.
Your first mistake was assuming anything in your post upset me. I was just making a comment. You should probably take a break from the board if you took my two-sentence post as anything close to angry. Have a good weekend.
Excellent point. I had to get my wife a very expensive car we had no business buying (so she can show it off) and it's really set us back because I had a job hiccup last year. Got some good words for me?
Sell the car take the loss, or keep paying for it, and / or upgrade your kitchen, although markets suck, if your girl is into that I dunno Lol- has Rocketman been on an angry soap box lately or something?
Drifted around finding myself as only boomers who lived in an America where the middle class was expanding could do. After a couple of careers finally settled down to one at age 35. Mid life crisis hit me hard at about 55. Split w. business partner. Burned out from hearing of suffering from clients, much of it needlessly due to American society. Son left home. Took longer than expected to recover from cervical surgery. All parents of me and wife died within about a two year span. I agree with the diet and exercise prescription. Fortunately wife stayed with me. Rebuilt business which has been exciting and is keeping me amused. Working on Saturday --even right now, sort of. PS: I guess it is time to go.
If it makes you feel better, if you are going to put money into a house, the kitchen is where you want to put it. EDIT: Oops. Didn't see that the kitchen topic had hit such a nerve with everybody.
