I agree wholeheartedly with this statement. I think Bush's actions in regards to taxation of dividends and other economic stimulus is exactly what is needed. His swift action in Afghanistan and depletion of terror funding were handled excellently. Now that Bush has recently dropped hints to forcing the Issue in Israel, I think he can re-build some relations that were hurt in the recent Iraq War. The problem is TJ, that even last year the entire House, voted to show solidarity with Israel. I think the only guy that didn't was Robert Byrd and someone from Alabama. Its political suicide to do so. Its just amazing to me that the AMERICAN congress can vote so vehemently to stand behind the actions of another government.
It's an issue that we, as American citizens, need to address to our representatives. I don't feel it's in the best interest of U.S. middle east policy to strongly support and subsidize Israel or allow them to have nuclear weapons to threaten their neighbors with. We haven't had a serious beef with Syria for years and I making an issue of it now will only justify, in the minds of Arabs and Muslims worldwide, the opinion that we're on a crusade against Islam and the middle-east. Seriously ladies and gentlemen, how many major news stories have featured Syria prominently in the past 10 years that were big news for more than 2-3 days? If you have as much trouble remembering as I do then chances are it's because they didn't do anything serious during that time frame. Stop the madness.
