Why not? Give him the max over 6 years, see what happens. Sarcasm meter has reached level 9000 x infinity.
No disrespect to certifiedtroll but Redd should be low on our list of priorities. Having a good two way player like Lee at the SG is good for the team though chances are we might not be able to keep him. Redd can only play in spurts and is injury prone just like the starting SG we have (Martin).
I am not suggesting heavily pursuing him at all, just wanted to see what the community thought of an over the hill player. Wouldn't mind giving him veteran min personally if we plan to set our sights for a big.
It will be players like this that the Rockets would have to pursue if they get Dwight and Deron this offseason. To get both Dwight and Deron we would along the way have parted with our 3 1's, Lowry, Martin, Patterson, guys from the Milwakee trade and possibly Morris. So if that goes down we would need to add players with limited money because Howard (19 million) + Williams (17 million) + Scola (10.5 million) + Lee ( 3.5 million) would equal 50 of the 58 million in cap space for only 4 guys. After bringinng back Camby for one more year at around 2 million, we would be up to 5 guy and only 6 million left. I would then start to look at guys like Reed and Dooling (to backup Deron) as low cost veterans who still have a little left to come on the cheap to play with two stars and a possible championship. Then you add in our young guys with there small contracts (Parsons, Morris and Motiejunas) that gives us our 10 man rotation and puts us right around the cap max. Then you add a couple guys at the minimum and you have your squad. Long answer short, I would be on board with Reed and other verterans like Reed (Dooling) if we are able to get our big 2.
Yea, from all accounts he is in the best shape of his life and looking to top his previous spectacular return for when the renovations of MSG are complete.
