Conservatives and far left will be trying to tear apart the Democratic Party.

Nah, the far left is doing it nicely. Conservative don't need to do anything except wait for the older dems to die off and let the young ones take over and scare people into voting right.

It's a well known fact that any form of advertising will influence a sizeable percentage of the population. Blitz the airwaves with a billion dollar campaign using half-truths and equivocation that the earth is flat and I guarantee you the number of people who believe the earth is flat will increase. So yes, money + advertising "buy" votes. Therefore, the difference here is how the money was obtained to buy votes. Michael Bloomberg - in this case he's getting votes because he has money. Because he is wealthy he will be on the debate stage. If he had to hit the pavement for people to buy into his message for funding he would likely not be. Given the fact that money gets votes, it seems to me decidedly less democratic that the other way around, which is what most other candidates have to contend with - people increasingly buy into a candidate's message, then give the candidate money to spread that message.

If I were so immensely wealthy that I bought all of the airtime of every tv channel and print advertisement in existence, outbidding all other candidates bids to push their message, is this still a democracy? Technically I suppose, but not one that I would prefer.

    Funny.

Millennials have been waiting for the Baby Boomers/Silents to die off so that they can swing the country left. Looking at how generations tend to vote, it seems that the only reason we have as many GOP reps we do is because of Boomers and Silent generation voting right. Literally every generation after that tends to be left leaning...

And I know what you'll say... "Well, as you get older you get more conservative..." Isn't true. Generations tend to have a political lean and stick with it.

As Bob Dylan once famously sung...oh the times, they are a-changin'

What does this have to do with Bloomberg?

Is he saying half truths and saying the world is flat?

Don't you think if Berny had the money he would be doing the same thing?

What is wrong with a candidate promoting themselves?

So you saying it is ok for candidates to receive money

Don't know why you included the last paragraph because nobody is advocating for that and Bloomberg is not trying to do that.

Just because you don't like what Bloomberg is doing does not make it inherently wrong.

    It's like your opinion man.

Wow. I could say re-read what I posted but I don't think that would help.
