Don't make me puke by thinking up that movie again but the thing that gets thrown in my face most often is when he says if the 2nd amendment really reads that no arms are illegal that nuclear weapons would be legal.
Most of the folks here are just repeating that Moore is unreliable when his reliability is probably as great or greater than much of the mainstream media, and certainly greater than Faux News and the Bush-Cheney administration.
+1 Why is everyone so hell bent on not believing unorthodox sources of information? The crap you're fed on TV isn't true...I'm not advocating Moore really, but does anyone ever care to research and find the truth anymore? Yep...lets just believe the crap CNN, Fox, and ABC tell us. Oh, MTV too.
i don't understand where the "lie" is. it's a counter-argument to those who believe that the second amendment gives everyone the right to bear arms and that it cannot be limited. if it gives everyone the right to bear arms, then why can't we own nuclear weapons. regardless, i shouldn't have even asked you since this libpig hasn't even seen any of moore's movies.
The Right goes after every factoid in Moore's movies and picks. If you did that to the ABC News, which I watch nightly, you could do the same thing. I can understand how some don't like his style as some of it grates on me, too. Overall I think his movies are very educational and provide a good service.
Because the possesion of certain materials and controlled substances is illegal. These substances are not illegal based on their ability to manufacture arms but on their nature of being severely toxic when not in form of a weapon.
I've been watching some debates on youtube and can't think who the bigger douche is...him or Bill O'Reilly? It's not even really debating but playing the who's more stubborn game..
Here's one for ya: From Farenheit 911 Re: George Bush is in Bed with the Taliban While George Bush was Governer of Texas, the Taliban was allowed into the coutry in order to meet in Houston with the Oil Company Unilocal..a Company that Bush Sits on the Board of and Owns a lot of stock in. Okay, George Bush was Governer of Texas at the time, but the Governer doesen't have the authority to allow Foreign Government Officials into the country..that power is reserved for the White House..at the time it was the Clinton White House. Also, Yes, George Bush has a lot of Stock in Unilocal NOW but at the time, he had absolutely NO business interests in Unilocal. The only thing Bush had in common with the Taliban is that they were both standing in the state of Texas at the same time. This kind of misrepresentation of facts is truly frightening and propagandic at best.
Sorry, it was Unical, not Unilocal. You can find many more of these deceptions here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1164856/posts or here: http://www.davekopel.com/Terror/Fiftysix-Deceits-in-Fahrenheit-911.htm
A cruise missle is a unmanned aircraft with an explosive payload right? So the "weapon" part of the cruise missle is the bomb basically. The delivery system is regulated by the FAA and I doubt they would ever allow a civilian to have a craft that is not built for space flight and does not have the ability to land safely. You have to log a flight plan before every flight. This includes even remote control airplanes that are capable of certain speeds and altitudes. So to answer your question if there was no restriction on weapons, there would still be many many restrictions on owning a "cruise missle"
If the FAA can regulate delivery systems that can’t land safely, why can’t the government regulate other things that aren’t safe? Bullets fly through the air. According to your standard, that would make them subject to regulation, no?
Not really since the FAA comes in at certain speeds and altitudes. I know you are some kinda scared person but anyone with enough cash can buy a "delivery system" with much more destructive power than a cruise missle. So the whole cruise missle argument is crap.
This is true, and is similar to the kind of stuff that Rush would do. Moore has done that kind of thing before. It's sad because he doesn't have to. The points can be made without doing that.
