we should all create threads stating that tracy mcgrady was the best rocket ever just to piss tinman off. that would be fun.
Didn't Jordan himself say that Penny Hardaway, when he was still playing at a high level, was the closest player to his skillset? No one will compare exactly to Jordan, but Kobe (I hate him) comes close, in terms of talent and rings. I don't think Lebron will have the same type of career. An injury is going to get those young legs...microfracture. I feel it, but hopefully it's not true.
nah. any Rocket fan was pissed off at all playoff loses with T-mac promising us glory when we receive defeat. Real Rockets fans know who the best player ever in Rockets history is, no matter what the fakes ones think.
Pissed off ? Far from that Despite whatever you think T-Mac gave 100% effort in the playoffs, he played "Jordnesque" in crunch time. He performed like a monster and unfortunately he couldn't single handedly take the team to the next level. It took the Rockets to find a different matchup other than the Jazz to get us to the second and the addition of Artest. You think Yao/Artest were going to beat Boozer/Williams in the playoffs ? Ha think again Jazz would of knocked us out three years running. Why should we be pissed at T-Mac ? When on the court he played great for us. Hop off your hate T-Mac bandwagon.
Tracy didn't choke in the playoffs, he might have even raised his game up some. But Jordanesque? performed like a monster? we weren't watching the same games.
kobe is the only one that you can compare to MJ, but MJ didn't have Shaq either. couple more MVP's and a couple more championship might put Kobe up there with MJ but i seriously doubt that's gonna happen due to his age and decline in his athletism.
Mcgrady was 29/7/6 in the playoffs Jordan was 33/6/6 in the playoffs I'm not saying that Mcgrady was near as clutch or was able to simply take over the game, but he had his moments. Jordan had many more chances to show off his skills in the playoffs. Something Mcgrady has not had the fortune of doing. But the fact that people pin not getting out of the first round on one single person is mind boggling. The hate he receives is simply unwarranted for the effort he put in during the post-season.
Really? Tell about this crunch time thing. was it game 7 against he Mavs? or game 7 against the Jazz?
this is not hate, this your false knowledge of the nba. when you compare a person who's considered the best to play the game to a guy who has been on 3 teams who hasn't won a single playoff series. that's a dumb comparison.
You constantly having unwarranted hate against T-Mac is dumb. You have no valid argument to justify your hate but simply "First Round"
don't let that rocketsmania name fool, you this is straight up tmac lovin. Jordan won defensive player of the year. and you know the answer, obviously he hasn't seen Jordan play or even cares.
championships > losing in the first round oh. Jordan was Jordanesque cause he CLOSED OUT series against the BEST TEAMS, not the Utah Jazz with Matt Harpring guarding him.
Jordan's team with Jordan won over 50 games. T-Mac's teams without T-Mac have never been even close to the playoffs except last season. I have no idea why we're even comparing T-Mac and Jordan though. Jordan is the greatest of all time. T-Mac is an average superstar.
Your thread fails because you say MJ is better than someone then obviously you're comparing the two. There can be no comparison? WTF Jordan can be compared to any guard in this league, and even other basketball players if you're comparing qualities of their personality. So if I say Jordan is better than Tmac then I don't know anything about basketball? More likely you don't know anything about the English language, which is sad because that's likely the only language you know
Did I ever say he was on par with Jordan ? No I didn't I said he had "Jordanesque" moments not that he was ever on par with Jordan. Yes he has similiar personal stats to Jordan in the playoffs but his overall success as a team was far from similar. He at times had flashes of Jordan in the playoffs, but the team overall just couldn't put it together.
I'm saying if you compare Jordan to another player, he has to have at least accomplished something in the nba such as being an mvp or finals mvp or top 50 player or change the game (like Wilt Chamberlain). The Tmacmania991 guy is the only one comparing Tmac. I think it's an invalid comparison cause Jordan has accomplished many things while Tmac has not. Simple. Let's say you compare Magic Johnson to Michael Jordan. MVPs? yes championships? yes finals mvps? yes top 50 players? yes see.
