Based on your smear posts in the Obama thread, it's strange that you suddenly care about the details of a bill.
Fox's facts are correct. He stated that Talent voted to not federally fund embryonic stem cell research on new lines of embryonic stem cells. But Fox said he expressed desire to make this research illegal. (I couldn't verify this, but I can't say that it's untrue.) Most of the Democrats ads about this subject have the untruth that you mentioned, but McKaskill's has it right.
My grandmother died of Parkinson's disease, and I oppose embryonic stem cell research (as well as the creation of "extra" embryos for the purpose of in vitro fertilization). It is bad that some people die of Parkinson's. Many more are killed before they have a chance at life because they are discarded at a medical clinic or are aborted. If you believe life begins at birth, this isn't a big deal. If you believe life begins at conception, this is a disgusting and abhorrent practice.
But my question is why oppose funding of embryonic stem cell research on discarded embryos from fertility clinics. These are embryos that will be destroyed anyway so at the very least something positive is done. It's the functional equivalent of an organ donation.
That's not really germaine to my rant about stupid sports celebrities, but I understand your point of view. I don't agree per say, but I understand.
Organ donation is completely voluntary. As soon as the embryos give informed consent, this will be functionally the same.
