This isn't just an NBA story so I am posting this in the hangout. Some of Tables on the site are pretty interesting like splits by gender, race, ethnicity, etc.

Jordan would be hated if he were playing 10 years later. All the dickish things he has done would have made twitter. He's a worse person than Kobe.

Those female sport star results seem scattered. I thought Mia Hamm was odd, she hasnt been relevant for a decade. Then last year's list, Ann Kournikova was never relevant on the court, surprising she'd be in top 10 (HAS to be men's vote) Then out nowhere Martina Navratilova was actually in a recent top 10? Thats actually a respectful choice, but she's been out of tennis for ages. Though being an analyst keeps people in the public eye.

Still, would figure someone like Candace Parker or Britney Griner would crack in there. (Kerri Walsh isnt a gymnast, and its misspelled.) But female athlete choices are just scarce.

Without a doubt Jordan's legacy would not be as bright if he played today. Jordan's brand came up just at the right time. It was the big rise of sports media marketing, but his private life could still be inaccessible enough. Not like today, like how groupies go on Lipstick Alley kissing and telling and exposing everything.

I agree. The media now loves to knock people down now and athletes are much more under the microscope.
