I remember listening to XM when that interview was done. I was like . You could tell Patrick didn't want any of that and knew it was a boneheaded response.
When you were listening to this was Michael Irvin cracking up at his own jokes too ? He's so annoying. *If I say it loudly and laugh after, everyone will join in.*
The quarterback is a ni..(BOOOOOONG..) What'd he say? He said the quarterback is a near!! No, god dang flim flam it!! I said the quarterback is a ni...(BOOOOOONG...)
I think Aikmen and Simms are both not bad. I think Aikman actually tries a little extra hard to be hard on the Cowboys so he doesn't come off as biased. But it is more professional than the other way on a national broadcast, i.e., homerism. Boomer E is Mr. Captain Obvious. That guy has flat useless commentary and on top of it his voice is annoying. The ESPN MNF crew makes me want to hit the mute button as well.
I heard about the comments but I didn't realize they were so extensive. he just keeps going and going. he insults black people, white people, and more specifically tony romo's family. how that guy keeps a job I have no idea. yeah it was a joke, but that's too touchy.
Agreed, they are f'n horrible...I thought I would get use to them and they'd grow on me, but man, they suck...
This reminds me of the other comentator for baseball that got dismissed for the Hispanic joke he made on the air. What about that? i just don't see how he could be treated any differently for basically saying his grandmother was banging some african american guy back in the day or he has some african american in him. How would we take it if it was this scenario. African American QB - Some Caucasian guy says that he is a smart quarterback, smarter than most. He must have some white in him. Somewhere in the past his great grandmother was banging a smart white guy. I honestly think there would be about 200 organizations and other things all over him right now and he would have lost his job. He doesn't bring anything to the show just like Barkley. They are there to make it interesting and say stupid stuff in my opinion to get everyone talking. With this i think he crossed the line a bit.
I totally agree. Although I don't necessarily think he should lose his job over this, just like I thought the other incident was blown out of proportion too. But the double standard is very obvious.
Shannon Sharpe just sounds like an idiot. He just has no ability to articulate even the most basic statements. He isn't saying stupid things like Irvin, it's just that whatever he says comes out sounding like random muttering. Michael Irvin on the other hand is just an idiot plain and simple. You can understand Irvin and you can clearly see that he just says flat out stupid things. As bad as Shannon is, I'd rather have the guy who sounds stupid than the guy who really is stupid.
Please tell me this hasn't been posted yet. Bledsoe's blog (fake for those who are slow): www.tonyhomo.com
