This is nothing more than a negotiating ploy. Obviously the 49ers will call his bluff and he will sign, maybe for equal money. No way he gets more. For Crabtree to allow his agent to pull this kind of ploy shows how much control this agent has over his mind. Someone who cares about Crabtree needs to slap him in the back of his head and tell him this is bad for business. If this is prolonged, he could be labeled and people won't live it down. Neither will potential sponsors.

They brought up an interesting point on PTI today about this. If he chooses to sit out this year he won't even be able to tryout for other teams before next years draft since the 49ers will still own his rights. So not only will other teams be wary of his diva ways, they will also have no idea if he is even in playing shape.

Stupid, stupid, stupid ploy. It sickens me that THIS is the guy who cost my team a chance at a National Title.

As a 9ers fan, I really hope he signs.

Why should he get more than Heyward-Bey? He was drafted behind him!

Do these sort of crap actually work? Because once it happens one time, you know the floodgates will open in future rookie negotiations. I can't imagine the 49ers break the "unofficial league rule" and just give in.

The ESPN radio guys implied he was also a major diva when he visited the ESPN campus for the day. And this is the one place where every major sports superstar from Lebron to Peyton to Tiger has come through. You can tell the guys (Van Pelt and another guy, not Tirico, I think he's out for vacation or something) were trying to bite their tongue.

Usually agents negotiate for more money using actual draft position relative to other players as a way to argue for more money.

I, until now, have never heard of mock drafts being an argument.

    Dumb.

I can't wait to see his face, if he does indeed decide to sit out until next year's draft, when he sees guys like Dez Bryant, Arrelious Benn, and Damian Williams get drafted before him.

Because Lord knows he only got the Blinitnekoff award because of his "catch" against Texas, which probably should have never happened in the first place if it weren't for The Dropped Interception. Dez had better stats with 2-3 guys covering him and Dezmon Briscoe had similar stats too.

If this is true, maybe Crabtree is actually a jerk and his agent isn't the problem after all. I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.

The stuff the kid was saying before the draft was flat out arrogant and outrageous.

Mike Florio was the one who started calling him a Diva.

Maybe it was the fact that UT lollygagged around the first half of that game without scoring that cost them a chance at the title.

Maybe it was the fact that Blake Gideon had butterfingers that cost UT a chance at the title.

Maybe it was the fact that Curtis Brown couldn't wrap up Crabtree after the catch that resulted in the final touchdown that cost UT a chance at the title.

If Crabtree hadn't declared for last year's draft, he would likely be the 3rd-4th WR taken this year.

Dez and Arrellious Benn is Crabtree without the diva attitude AND they are more athletic, quicker, and faster.

I don't deny that Crabtree is probably an ass-clown, but I'm generally in favor of NFL players doing everything they can to get the most guaranteed money possible.

Crabtree was roommates with a drug-dealer (De'Shon Sanders, who got arrested by the DEA last year after an investigation), and my good buddy from Tech said it was a well-known fact that Crab was involved in the drug-game. Apparently, Sanders, who was a DB and a community college transfer from San Francisco, was pushing cocaine and mar1juana.
