Glad someone else caught this... the republican trump defenders are chasing invisible rabbits...

It doesn't really matter what he says - nothing is going to happen with Trump.

 

Trump continues to be an embarrassment. Is anyone surprised that things would unfold in this way?

 

Yup, and his base will stick by him as usual, so this is pretty much a non event. 99.9% of the opinion on Trump in this country are already made and i believe less than 5% of them will change between now and 2020.

 

If you didn't believe he didn't conspire with Russians I think you have your head in the sand. He won and he enacted most of the republican Tax cuts so republicans don't care about the Russian help.

Trump has the senate so nothing can really happen to him even if the house impeaches. And in 1.5 years we will find out if the American people care.

 

Which is why , as a democrat, you have to stop wasting time on this, consolidate your candidates and key issues affecting those who make 5 figures a year (forget about the upper middle and wealthy), and do everything you can to win the swing voters. This pointless charade is a waste of everyone's time.

 

I suspect they will say he was only honest on these points...

 

Don't think its pointless, even if republican senators continue to protect him no matter what information is uncovered. The American people need to know what happened... and hopefully take steps that the important decision on who leads our country is better made...

 

Democrats are just doing exactly what GOP would have done, this is how the US government works, and it will be done again by future GOP and Democrats. It will provide some nice election TV clips though.

 

Rep. Armstrong is literally mad that Cohen is cooperating with a FEDERAL INVESTIGATION!

 

Does this republican house member really think its a good tactic to go after cohen's tax returns???

 

Especially when he already pleaded guilty to tax fraud.

 

So trump used money from his charity to get someone to bid on his painting so that his painting got the largest bid.

 

Uh, no. The president should be held accountable for his actions regardless of whether his base and congressional Republicans care at all.

 

Amazing how many people around the office are tuned in like a hawk right now.

 

Expect all this will happen hopefully after 2020 and not 2024.

 

He can't be the only one that can convict him is the Senate and there is no chance that is happening. Well I guess he could resign and then Pence could just pardon him for all his crimes.

 

Hmm, sure. Keep telling yourself that, whether it's Clinton or Trump, it's show ponyism and doesn't have any consequences for the uber wealthy down the road.
